Rovers' Inevitable Decline

I'm not too fussed about what happens down the road but this latest example of their annual slump is interesting.
They seem to do it every January... what appears to be a half decent squad until injuries and suspensions kick in.
Not to mention the trauma of a good kicking at the hands of the Clarets.
Ah, happy days.

I can't be the only one who remembers the league table being posted with mind the gap across it after they won their first 3 games of the season :D

That tweet is destined to go the same way as that Boro fans tweet about us signing Nick Pope

Some of it will be down to fitness levels and the quality of their pre-season.
Don't forget their training ground is quite dated now, they don't have desso pitches do they?
Plus the pitch at Ewood is quite poor, so that's harder on the legs, than say on a smoother desso pitch.

They also had a large chunk of time off with the world cup being on to work on their fitness levels, but maybe they didn't do enough.

As much as people used to grown about the "Dyche fit" claim, our teams generally worked hard and ran further than a lot of teams during a game

I think they played last nights game on their training pitch, looking at the state of it.

One of Wigan’s players did their knee last night on that.

Embarrassing.

Not that he looks a particularly good player in my opinion, but they will have been banking on getting a decent fee for Brereton-Diaz. The fact it looks like he is signing for Villareal on a free in the summer further wrecks the likelihood of their manager having much of a transfer pot in the summer. They have a very young squad but the only one of their youngsters who has impressed me this season has been the midfielder Adam Wharton (who for some reason never seems to play now).

I think they're in a real mess going into next season.

This is a good point, the number of injuries could be linked to the quality of the pitch itself, especially if they're suffering from ankle/knee injuries.

Nice that the acronym for tis thread would be RID. I definitely think the league would be finer if we got rid of them, or perhaps RIP would be better.

Rovers’ Inevitable Plunge perhaps

I’ve done a lot of technical analysis on their games looking at the individual players stats, the team selection, team set up, formation, stats in possession, stats out of possession, second balls one, running stats, substitutions, squad depth, etc etc
And my overall conclusion is that they are simply a “bit shite”

They have actually had some good results this season ansd were going well till one Ashley Barnes and team demoralised them. From this, they appear not to have recovered.

You may be correct.
I’ll recheck the stats.

Yes you are correct. I forgot to look at overweight Dack and Diaz “fat stat”

Steady on guys
Would you stand around a homeless man, abusing him for his crap muddy tent, his lack of money and his penchant for bestiality ?I would hope that you are better than that, so please lay off the poor things down the M65.

On second thoughts keep up the good work.

Brereton Diaz getting pelters for his recent performances - looks like the gamble hasn’t paid off. Was shocked how bad he was at the Turf considering he was their ‘star man’. Looked lazy, disinterested and unfit. Dack looks to be of a similar ilk.

The steady decline of our neighbours up t’ road is reflected in their ageing facilities and ongoing lack of success. These are surely the signs of a badly run club and it’s instructive to compare their failure with the present achievements of the Pace regime. I was one of many who disliked the way in which the purchase of the club was financed and then worried about the consequences of relegation. But he doesn’t appear to have put a foot wrong since relegation: choice of manager (and getting him here); sales; purchases.
Long may our divergent paths continue!

We showed the division how to beat them. PNE used the high press in their next match and now they are all at it. BBD has been nowhere near last seasons level all this term and Gallagher has never scored many.
Early season they sneaked a lot of 1-0s with a sound defence in front of a decent keeper. Ash knocks three bells out of him and all his confidence has gone.
They are done.

By the look of him the only thing Dack is going to “rip apart” is his family size bag of Revels.

Objectively, I have sympathy for any club with crap or disinterested owners. Too many fat cats ruin clubs. They own them on paper but what is a club without it's fans?

As for the bastards, I never wish for them to fold (nor any club really) - just many long, arduous seasons in the lower leagues. :)

I remember when blackburn won the league this season, Sunday 4th August 2022, played 3 won 3, having dispatched of one of the early favourites for the title, West Brom. The ewood faithful remained at full time, (for once) to acclaim their all conquering heroes as they performed a lap of honour, to the strains of Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline. Halcyon days indeed.

True…but we did seem to get a lot of mysterious injuries. And I never like the non-use of new players due to the so called Dyche fit. What the hell was it anyway. We seemed to wait for centuries before we saw new faces play.

Think I’ve said before but my Rovers son in law can’t wait to see the back of Brereton. He is very football savvy (despite being a Rover) and has been consistent in his condemnation of him. Lazy, disappears in games and very inconsistent. He said, jokingly, I wish your lot would buy him, it would put the brakes on your charge.

I don't think they have a bad manager either. He has got them more points than they really should have but they haven't backed him in any way. When they tried they messed it up and, it appears, he can't work out why they were getting a midfielder when two forward players went out on loan.

They seem to have ran out of steam and all the back markers are catching them.

In other news perhaps this would be more up their street as football clearly isn’t.
