What happened to Benson yesterday?
I thought VK said he was available, so disappointed to see him outside the ground at 2.15pm. Has there been an update on why he didn’t make it in the end?
Re: What happened to Benson yesterday?
He didn’t specifically say he was available.
His words were Rodriguez is unlikely but we are almost at full strength apart from that.
He’s been training so obviously close. Who drops off that bench yesterday though?

Don't worry, next game they're actually going to let him in.

Solid bench option for Tuesday.

It did look like he wasn’t sure how to get into the ground and had lost his ticket1882Clarets1882 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 9:17 amDon't worry, next game they're actually going to let him in.

We play the ultimate alehouse brawlers in Watford
They will attempt to boot us off the park as they did to Benny in the away game.
I would save him for a second half cameo or even rest him till Luton.

I’d say to get Benson back on the bench, any of them. Most like Obafemi at a guess though.
Re: What happened to Benson yesterday?
Oh yeah for sure. He’s nailed on. Just highlighting how strong that bench is, cause ideally you wouldn’t take any off it!colne-claret wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 9:22 amI’d say to get Benson back on the bench, any of them. Most like Obafemi at a guess though.

Re: What happened to Benson yesterday?
BPF. If Muric gets injured we’ll just have to play a different CB
Re: What happened to Benson yesterday?
Imagine, being given the run around for 70 minutes ad then Banson comes on.

Re: What happened to Benson yesterday?
Benson took part in the warm up rondo with the starting XI.
Maybe he’s just lacking a bit of sharpness. There’s no a chance he doesn’t make the match day squad when he’s fully fit. He’s a genuine game changer.

Was it not Marcel Lewis warming up beforehand? They look quite similaragreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 9:46 amBenson took part in the warm up rondo with the starting XI.

My eyesight isn’t the best and I was a fair distance away, although several folk around me thought it was Benson too.

I think you need to go to Specsavers!agreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 9:46 amBenson took part in the warm up rondo with the starting XI.

Re: What happened to Benson yesterday?
Incidentally if Muric ever gets fed up with goalkeeping he could be a centre back. Was watching him closely yesterday and essentially we have eleven outfield players and a guy who just runs back for goalie duties when the opposition get the ball (which of course is not often). Brilliant really. EFL programme last night had a great stat about him. He completed more passes yesterday than Preston’s two main midfielders put together. This guy, after a lot of early criticism, is becoming a major asset to this team.

Probably always arrives by transport, so never makes the walk!northeastclaret wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 9:20 amIt did look like he wasn’t sure how to get into the ground and had lost his ticket

Re: What happened to Benson yesterday?
On a similar note we were in the traffic jam going past Tesco after the match and we saw a copper running up the central reservation to bollock a driver for using his phone. The car was an expensive four wheel drive Porsche and we past it as they were arguing. My son in law said ‘Bloody he’ll I’m sure that was Maatsen’. We past them again in the queue a few minutes later and (it was dark of course) I took a look and I have to be honest it did look remarkably like him. Does anyone know what he drives?agreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 9:56 amPossibly.

Re: What happened to Benson yesterday?
So if we’re nearly back to full strength that probably means Harwood-Bellis must be close too.
Before injury he would have been the first name on my team sheet, but Beyer has now emerged as a defensive leader, Ekdal is taller and good in the air and Al Dakhil is not too shabby either. So all good news going into the tough Sat/ Tues/ Sat programme - I would be happy with any permutation of those four - especially with Taylor also in the wings.
So, no worries in defence, but slightly concerned about the engine room. We still seem to be a body short for this hectic period of games (plus cup matches). We can’t afford any injuries/ suspensions for Cullen, Cork, Bastien and especially Brownhill (who is a major part of our success).
I think we’ll get by though !!

The old 'Rush goalkeeper' position.houseboy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 10:35 amIncidentally if Muric ever gets fed up with goalkeeping he could be a centre back. Had you not realised, It was a sell out, he couldn’t get a ticket.northeastclaret wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 9:11 amtso disappointed to see him outside the ground at 2.15pm. Has there been an update on why he didn’t make it in the end?
