Food bank collection, What time do they quit?

Post by jos » Sun Feb 12, 2023 6:07 pm

For future reference,

I’m assuming that the good folk doing the collecting outside the ground with their wheelie bins have to store the food and get into the ground, but does anyone know what time they ‘close shop’ so to speak, after wandering around the whole ground looking for them I had to leave a contribution in the club shop. (For which I thank them)

2.30pm normally but if the bins have already been removed, the FanZone has a bin in there.

It is 2:40. Won’t be any earlier.

As I’ve just posted, it’s 2:40 and not 2:30.

Probably wouldn’t use the word ‘quit’ 😂

I literally just missed it yesterday (as told by a steward) and it was 14:40, to confirm.

Yesterday the 2 bins outside the away turnstiles were being wheeled away before 2.30pm and I'd to chase him to put my bag in!

None outside Bob Lord in usual spot at 14:35 yesterday. Walked straight round to the fan zone and there were multiple unattended bins there so dropped my donation in

Thanks for the information regarding finish times. It shouldn’t be before 2:40.

We absolutely will, thank you. Frustrating to hear that the bins are being collected during the busiest period though.

We don't take the bins in ourselves. We have a volunteer (1 man) from Burnley in the Community who collects the bins from 240pm. He has to do 3 locations to help, the bins were taken in early before the PNE game , for that we apologise. The collection bin was near the cricket club until 240pm that day. As mentioned above there will always be a bin inside the fan zone and the bins are left before collection near the ticket collection cabin.
