Any advice to calm Wifes concern appreciated

For a number of years, up to very recently, I have returned from the match and slumped in the chair. Pouring a whisky and cursing like Father Jack at all and sundry about the a certain player, a manager or match official. This behaviour calmed the wife knowing it was perfectly natural for a Burnley fan and helped with the outpouring of life stresses.
However she is now very concerned. When a return for the game I pour the whisky and sit in silence for an hour or so with a broad grin on my face. Not a grumble or a whinge.
She thinks I’m ill!

This state is euphoria and deserves another whisky.

Brilliant! Couldn't have put it any better. I feel totally discombobulated. This Brazilian-esque football leaves me dizzy and confused.

It’s unbelievable how much better life is when your teams winning, almost makes me wish I’d been born in Barcelona
Once that sun starts warming us up every day as we head in to ‘summer’ promotion is weeks away, I don’t think it gets much better, Monday morning at work, smiling and checking the table every 30 minutes

A little suggestion:
Summon memories of Mark Winstanley or Lee Howey. This should help give you at least a veneer of grumpiness to reassure your wife you r not lost your marbles.

Best cure for this is to take the opposite turn on to the M65 and when you get to Ewood park, watch that game and pretend the team in blue and white are Burnley.
You’ll then have a pitch, a half empty stadium and 11 donkeys to complain about when you get home

Pour a can of John Smiths, that'll get you grumpy.

I think if I went anywhere near when Burnley aren’t playing she would have me committed.

Whilst watching matches recently, I'm seriously uncomfortable about being seriously comfortable.
Just feels odd.

Just tell her to enjoy it while it lasts.
Next year we'll be grinding out 1-1 draws with Brentford away.

I have an almost Zen like calm watching Burnley now compared to the gut wrenching nerves at the start of the season as we learned how to play out from the back. Its like going to theatre to watch a Shakespeare play you know the script and the ending but you just want to appreciate the quality of the actors and hope for a few twists in the story before the inevitable ending.

On the subject of other halves, how are people playing the going on a match on valentines night situation. I’ve just announced it’s happening but have had my arm twisted into a ‘nice lunch out’ the following day.

Big shout to for Morrisons meal deals

Not having that. You could have gone to M&S in Burnley and the deal was £20 not the cheap £15 Morrisons.

Not a grumble or a whinge. Maybe your wife is getting a visitor whilst you are on the Turf.

Easy for me as it is a an afternoon kickoff here, so I'll just sit and watch, he's in the good books because he's booked a meal out early evening

All is well in the world, well my little world at least, while it was Super Bowl here yesterday, as is our tradition went out for brunch with family and friends, got home in the evening. Even him falling asleep on the sofa after a few minutes didn't disturb me at all, these wins just keep making full weekends very pleasant indeed, my grandchildren had their first ever trip to the Turf Saturday as part of the youngest's birthday weekend, they thoroughly enjoyed it.

Probably is but not when you have travelled to the match in a car as a rear seat passenger with 3 mates ... am sure the Dave the driver would appreciate "errr could you hang on about 25 minutes, am just nipping in to town to buy a meal for two for me and the Mrs" ...

A real mate would have driven you round to M&S. Bet Dave's not a Lancashire lad.

1. From the outset of the marriage the respondent made it clear to the petitioner that his love for burnley f c was greater than his love for the petitioner.
2. On the petitioners 40th birthday the petitioner asked to be taken out for a nice meal or hoped that the respondent would at least pay her a little attention, but the respondent told her to "**** off love. We've got Plymouth away so I'm leaving at 4a.m. this morning".
3. The respondent irrationally refused to allow the petitioner to name her son after her grandfather who had died shortly before the birth of the parties first child as the petitioners father "shared a first name with 'that bastarrd Dalglish' and he would rather call his child Jedward"
4. Conversely, the respondent insisted that his daughter was named "Ashley", his son "Corky", his dog "Dyche" and even refused to put the rubbish out unless the waste bin was renamed "venky".

Understood.
I read a case recently where the petitioner stated that her better half bought her a cheap Morrisons Valentine meal deal four days before the day and blamed his mate Dave for not getting her a better one.
