I know people have been trying to be positive about Muric this week, but he will get absolutely humiliated in the prem

Billy O'Rourke. I saw the Bolton keeper score against him with a goal kick
I dont remember him, but i do remember the keeper we had who used to play for wolves, he was bad.

Worst case scenario: We lose and are 14 points clear of 3rd. It WAS going to happen, come on. You expect us to get a neutral referee every game? Give over that was never going to happen - NEVER!
He's literally the best ref I've seen this season, we're just not playing that well is all!

Cullen needs Cork with him in the middle tonight.

Zaroury not on his game but still very dangerous.

Think the pace of Tella or Foster upfront will do more than Barnes as he’s not really getting to feet or in the air.

Muric is what it is, bad luck.

After first 10 min, most have been poor. Beyer is a massive loss

This thread is just full of babies, we've been behind at half time many times this season and dismantled sides 2nd half, you would think people would have learnt a little patience with this team by now.

They have pressed quick and hard and Davis has been an outlet very much a goal against the run but they have players to hurt us.

They have forced turnovers and won the 2nds and duels there getting close to us more there quality at pressing

Hopefully our quality will come out in the 2nd half.

Not a good first half - constantly given the ball away with Muric & Ekdal the biggest culprits.

Having said that, we’ve had opportunities so we just need to take the next one.

Not our night so far
Passes not as sharp
First touch not as good
Muric clanger
Beyer injured
Hope for better things but all good things ( this run) come to an end
Certainly a time for out two new strikers to step up to the plate
Pity Benson not available

Pretty harsh statement. It’s his first error which has led to a goal in god knows how long. Keepers make errors, did you see Pickford last night?

Muric error was poor but the entire team have been under their levels by a long way, so it’s not right to pick on one man. We’re giving it away non stop, we’re lucky to go in only 1 down in the sense that Watford had so many 3V2’s they didn’t exploit from our own poor passing.

We can only play better. I just hope Beyer isn’t a bad one, we would SERIOUSLY miss him.
Looked like a muscle injury, but hopefully not too bad!? Minimum of 2 weeks you would think?

We haven't been at our best, however Watford only scored from a mistake, and we are creating chances, just need to take one to get us going again.

Well a nervy half and very uncharacteristic sloppy passes, players a little casual at times , maybe believing the hype of how great they are. Need to knuckle down and establish the rhythm that we play.

There midfield 5 are bullying us a bit like they did at vicarage road , could put cork on for jbg , but then you need to push on brownhill. Interesting conundrum for VK at half time.

Not sure that Watford will tire in the last 20 mins either like many sides have this season

At 44 years old you won't (and you are lucky) remember Mark Kendal and our game at Bloomfield Rd was abysmal we conceded 5. A young Trevor Sinclair destroyed us and I was lucky enough to ask him if he remembered this shambles ' the worst ever to wear a goalkeepers shirt'

I wonder if all the talk of records saw some lose their heads a bit, Watford looked to have one aim, spoil our party, break up the game, rattle us etc. Didn't have much threat themselves, until we gift them a goal.

Why are people "babies" for being annoyed at giving that goal away? It was entirely avoidable and now means we need at least 2 in the 2nd half to win. Just catch the thing rather than trying to be fancy with it.

I’ve watched him lose it / make the wrong pass / wrong decision 7-8 times tonight. Equally been dangerous a couple of times but more often making the wrong choice.

Haha some people are far too harsh. Muric has done an awful lot more right than he has wrong. His kicking is under a lot more pressure tonight due to just how high Watford are pressing.

He makes mistakes, he is human, but I would rather have him that BPF and he helps makes us a better team.

One mistake cost us is all, 45 mins to make a mends.

Not a huge fan of Muric but that's how we are setup to play - akin to the wicketkeeper batsman. Apart from obvious exceptions I'd always prefer a wicketkeeper to a less able one who can get runs.

Anyway, back to the football. It's a high risk high reward setup. If Muric plays well he can help beat the press etc. At some point he will drop a clanger, that's the risk. All keepers who are asked to play this way do.

What worried more than the howler was the two following mistakes. Immediately after the ball pops up and he has it in his hands (or at least the chance to grab it). He doesn't and one of his weaknesses seems to be his handling.

Second mistake is that he doesn't know where the goal is and is out of position for the cross.

A keeper who is asked to play as much as he is will make mistakes. It's crucial that he has the support skills to help him when he does. Here's hoping he improves.

If Watford continue to press this high then I’d move tella to the middle out cork on, move JBG out wide, push brownhill up and take Barnes off. We would easily beat that press with pace up top.

We will be a different team second half.

It's madness isn't it, how many have we won in a row before tonight, did people think we'd win them all for the rest of the season, blimey we're due an off day sooner or later.

And still 45 mins left to rescue this match yet.

I think they have the better of Zaroury tonight. Stopping him mostly by making him cut inside, which to be fair he nearly scored from. They are certainly dealing with his threat better than most teams this season

Yeah, the right back has done well, almost telling him to go inside as he won’t get on the outside

Which goal? Not one was his fault. Try again.
You need to take your Muric love glasses off and give your head a wobble, you’re clearly out of your mind

Cullen is propping up the central midfield on his own. Cork would be a big help in there with his physicality and to calm us down on the ball a bit. Everyone just looked a touch overexcited at times when we could have been slowing play down a bit.

Not gonna criticise muric , when you play this way howlers will happen , need to remember up to this point only conceded 4 in 11 games , Truth I’m more concerned of the new centre back partnership for the 2nd half , purely as its untested..
