A Draw or a Boro win ...

I’d prefer a Boro win myself, although a Sheff Utd win might add some fire to the belly for the lads on Saturday

15 games to go ... win 5 and draw 5 and lose 5 and the teams in the playoffs have to break the record we equalled on Saturday and win at least 13 or more games from the remaining 14/15 games

Draw.
Plus West Brom putting 5 or 6 past Rovers at the Hawthorns.

Draw, or Sheffield win.... Already discussed a couple of days ago, win promotion ASAP then onto being champions, the bigger the gap to 3rd the sooner the first part gets done

Not that fussed if Boro win tonight, they'll still be 15 points adrift, and we'd stretch our advantage over Blades to 8 points.
As well as Boro are playing under Carrick they ain't clawing back that amount of points in the closing months of the season.
Think Sheff Utd will win though they are strong at home usually.

There’s a thread somewhere with about 200 replies which poses the same question. It’s an imponderable…

From listening to the radio you would have thought Boro are top of the league and all those points clear

Doesn't matter how they are scored but I don't think I've seen Sheff Utd score a nice goal this season.

Borough play a lot like burnley from what ive seen
Utd play like burnley under dyche last time in championship.
It’s old burnley v new burnley

Few things to note so far:
1. Boro are a very good side with an excellent front four
2. Sheff U are effective but very much a route one side
3. Boro’s keeper on loan from City bears a good few similarities with Muric. Funny that.
4. Chuba Akpom would be a great signing for us

It’s basically old burnley vs new burnley in style of play

Sheff win is our required result . We need to be as clear from 3rd place as possible . Title would be a bonus but it’s a forgettable bauble , it’s the promotion that matters .

Boro wanted shut of Akpom during the summer. Complete revival under Carrick, almost unbelievable the numbers he’s done under him.

Totally disagree. Trophies are all that matter, otherwise what are we all playing for?

Because Boro will be 15 points behind us, and us with a game in hand? I really wouldn’t worry.

Sheffield United look like a side who haven't played anyone decent for months.
I'm in the camp that would rather see a Sheffield United win or a draw. The first objective is promotion. The sooner we get that done, the better.

Frankly speaking, if Burnley get overtaken by Boro with this lead, then we don't deserve to go up.

Funnily enough, I seem to be in a different camp to most. I’d marginally prefer a Bro win to keep the gap between 1st and 2nd. Failing that a draw.
But the camp I belong to is we are so far ahead now, if we fail to go up then thank God we do and don’t embarrass ourselves just getting up. If we don’t go up now it’s because we really have imploded.
