He seems a really good character, and the extra interest in us from SA can only be a good thing for the club. I really hope he's a big success.

We have got to give the lad a bit of time to settle in to the team, the weather and a different pace of football.
He has come to us at a good time, and there isn't as much pressure on him to deliver.

He shows flashes of whats there, I reckon he will come good for us 🙂

He really has brought a following with him. Shame his header didn’t go in to give them even more to celebrate.

This lad is going to be something special I’m convinced of that. You can see he’s got the touch and power I just feel he needs game time and when promotion is secured he will, I’m sure, be number one choice for the remaining games and Then get him ready for the big time next season.

And, a cracking chap to boot !

I too think that he is going to go on to be a massive player for us, just needs a little time to bed in

I’ll give you time to settle in to the team and a different pace of football, but the weather? I’m not having that one :D

Oh don’t worry, people have been saying it. The font of literally all knowledge (in his own bathroom mirror) Lowbankclaret wrote him off after 20 mins and compared his ineptitude with Diego Penny.

Nevertheless, sensible posters are reserving judgment on him and will continue to do so for a while yet for reasons already stated on this thread. Sensible posters all want him to be a success.

If he has the talent he'll be fine. If VK didn't think he had the talent we wouldn't have signed him.

It will take him time to fit in and if he needs a full pre season to be at 100% for us, then so be it.

Id say the posts suggesting he's going to be something special are a bit more out there than a post saying so far he's been dreadful.

I don't think there's any need to be that derogatory about him but the truth is he's looked off the pace so far but as people have alluded to there's good reasons why that might be and hopefully next season we will see him really start to show his talent

Which of VK's other signings have needed 'time' to 'settle' in?

Hey, I'm in no rush with the bloke and fortunately time is what he has a lot of but when you've only got Barnes to be better than for the starting spot and you're not then I'm, personally, disappointed.

One start is it and people judging him?

Just like any other player who signs, he needs to be given time. I suppose had he scored a hat trick against Ipswich we would have had some hailing him as a world star which would have been as daft far as those writing him off.

Young player, new level of football for him to adjust to, let’s allow him some time.

I think he will get a number of opportunities to come off the bench as we substitute Barnes or Rodriguez, which will be a good way of bedding him in. Good luck to him

Only a bellend would write off Foster at this stage.

The sort of bellend that was writing the team off after the PSF against Shrewsbury or whoever.

I think he will take a while - far too early to be writing him off.

I suspect he’s being instructed to work on certain things when his opportunities arise, quite possibly elements of the game that he’s not been expected to do before.

From the clips I’ve seen, he looked the sort of player to receive balls ahead of him and to take players on, using his pace (not sure he has anything like as much pace as Newcastle Claret claimed, but he’s no slouch).

To date, he seems to be focused more on dropping a little deeper and trying to win possession and / or hold the ball up and bring others into play.

This may be an area we want him to develop. I think we are yet to see the elements of his game that he may be more comfortable with.

It’s a learning curve for him and for those around him. Give the lad some time and a fair chance - it’s the least he deserves and considering how well we have done with recruitment since VK arrived, it’d be mad to write him off so soon.

To bring this thread back onto Foster he's shown glimpses, and he did play a role in our late equaliser against Watford.

Once he gets his 1st goal, and he will soon, then he might well go on a run.

Worth remembering he's not had the luxury of a pre-season, plus he's moving to a totally different environment and league.

Also he's only 22 and this is a huge move for him at this stage of his career.

Give him a chance instead of getting on his back.

I would suggest a large portion of them? Twine, Churlinov, Bastien, McNally, Egan Riley, Benson (to an extent, Zaroury took a little while,

I would say the only ones that hit ground running were Maatsen and THB
