Dyche?

Makes you realise just how lucky we are at Burnley FC
Re: QPR Sack Critchley
Poor appointment. His 4-4-2 hoofball style was never a fit for their best players like Willock/Chair.

Re: QPR Sack Critchley
Why do they always sack the manager and not those who appointed the manager. If they have changed their minds after 12 games you have to question the recruitment process in the first place. Football is a ridiculous business. Most Championship clubs are skint but they signed him on a 3 and a half year contract! Presumably will need to pay him off. Madness.

Crazy to think we battered them as their manager seat was vacant just over a couple of months ago.

He's not daft enough to go there.
Re: QPR Sack Critchley
3 1/2 year deal. They got 1/4 of a year out of him. I wonder what they’ll end up paying him per game managed.

I dunno, think it’s quite easy to say poor appointment
with hindsight, but he was a highly regarded coach who’d done a fantastic job with Blackpool before he was poached by Gerrard. Were things not starting to go a bit south under Beale? He evidently didn’t believe in the club enough to stay anyway.

It may have escaped your notice, but I think you’ll find that Sean Dyche has recently taken up employment elsewhere.

I don't think I could support a club that only gave a manager a few months, abject failure at the top level. Fortunately I don't have to

He was a great fit at Blackpool. The decision to leave to become Gerrard's assistant at Villa seemed strange
Poor appointment by QPR. Assume they have a replacement in mind. Wilder and Nathan Jones both mentioned

Won’t be long before every club will have a Manager of the Month.
Re: QPR Sack Critchley
No real surprise. His record in the last 10 or so is worse than Jones at Southampton.
Joey Barton, maybe?

Re: QPR Sack Critchley
I think they appointed Critchley about an hour after we'd beaten them.
Strange one - was doing a good job at Blackpool and I thought he might be under consideration for us when Dyche was sacked. Then he opted to walk to join Gerrard at Villa to replace Beale who had gone to QPR. Quickly sacked at Villa and now sacked again after a terrible run of results.

QPR are in dissary and looking at a lower mid table finish. Unfortunately, their deluded board think that QPR should be promotion candidates

Seems like a lifetime ago for fans of many clubs, I'd expect.
I honestly thought Critchley would get them there or thereabouts come January but the bad results just kept on happening.

That table is a story in itself of the juxtaposition of fortunes of QPR and Middlesbrough

Re: QPR Sack Critchley
That table, was it around the time Beale turned down Wolves? They went on a poor run before he did his runner to Rangers. I think the game against us was their one game with a caretaker after Beale and that was the first game after the World Cup.
Re: QPR Sack Critchley
I think it may have been around the time of Wolves interest. The Burnley game was the first match after the departure of Beale, Paul Hall was caretaker. Our victory meant 4 losses on the spin for QPR, the rot had already started.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 10:03 pmThat table, was it around the time Beale turned down Wolves? Muric was fortunate not to give a way a penalty in the first minute, JBG scored a cracking free kick and Tella almost fell down a big hole to the side of the nets.

Re: QPR Sack Critchley
There’d have been no call for that penalty though if the assistant had stuck up his flag for offside as he should have done.4:20 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 10:11 pmI think it may have been around the time of Wolves interest. It's a tight one but it's no wonder the linesman kept quiet, his poor positioning here couldn't possibly tell either way.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 10:15 pmThere’d have been no call for that penalty though if the assistant had stuck up his flag for offside as he should have done.

Looks like Beyer is playing him onside in that photo, looking at the pitch stripe.

QPR another club who don't appear to have any long-term vision, that said Critchley's record in his brief spell there is shocking.

Re: QPR Sack Critchley
Funny club QPR. It's almost like they still think they are a big London club because they had a few years in the top flight in the 80s and early 90s. The reality is that they are lower end Championship/ League 1 level.

Re: QPR Sack Critchley
29 points from our first 16 games isn’t a bad haul…… until you look at our next 16 games where we’ve taken 43 from a possible 48 points!

Re: QPR Sack Critchley
West Brom were 23rd shows just how well Bilic has done to get them into play-off contention.
Boro the equivalent of Forest last season who came from rock bottom to win the play-off's.
Just demonstrates how long a slog the Championship is, and nothing is decided after a 3rd of the season.

The 4th Championship club, to change their manager for the 2nd time this season.
Complete madness.

Re: QPR Sack Critchley
The linesman flags for a throw and is behind the defenders, the throw is taken rather quickly and in-between this moment and the midfielder playing the ball through the linesman is running back away from our goal in an effort to get back in position. It's this split second out of position that hinders his ability to accurately judge the line. He then stops and starts to run back towards goal to keep up with the through ball. Easier to see what I mean on the video itself.
I've found a more accurate frame of the moment and I'm still unsure as to whether Beyer is playing the attacker on or not.

That was announced quickly. makes me wonder if they'd already been in contact with GA before potting Critchley.
