No issues with any of that, as long as the system works properly and the appeal process is fair and supporters aren't unfairly punished then that is fair enough.

Works both ways and people can sell their tickets which a few Burnley fans would like to do.

Seems absolutely gross to punish, or threaten to punish, a football fan for not using a seat they've paid a lot of money for. Clubs that are oversubscribed seem generally to treat fans like utter **** knowing that there's always plenty of others to take their place. The difference at Brentford to big clubs who do stuff like this is that Brentford aren't guaranteed to be oversubscribed at any point in the future.

I'd like us to bring in something to let us get a refund if we can't use our STs for a game but not if they start treating us like this in return.

Seems fair enough. Assuming the club sells every available season ticket every season.

I think London clubs suffer from touts buying STs and making fortunes on the big clubs visiting.
Or just rich people wanting to watch the big clubs.

A lot of fans who haven't got loyalty points for their club sign up to other clubs membership scheme.
Some will have over 6 years history with us.

Others just get friends of the club to buy them tickets.

They're going down next season anyway..they won't be able to give them away soon...

Sounds like a great system to me, and much fairer on the fans as a whole who want to watch games where demand exceeds supply.

The way I see it, every empty seat is a wasted opportunity for a fan to enjoy the game, or for us to grow the fan base. I also think the atmosphere is so important both to the team and the fan experience for those who attend.

So this is win win win win. Allows more fans to support the club, improves the atmosphere, gives credit back to fans for games they cannot attend and presumably earns a bit more for the club.

Only point I would add to it is that any unsold seats should go to local disadvantaged school children who mightn’t otherwise get the opportunity to go.

Similar to the system the US sports teams use I suppose, except they share the Ticketmaster exchange site.

Great idea and I'd hope more clubs do it, especially if they're looking at imposing the same sort of punishments.
Utd were going to demand ST holders attend a minimum amount of games or lose their tickets, but delayed implementation.

It’ll be good if there was a spare ticket programme.

Fans prefer to experience a full stadium and an opportunity for ‘walk ons’ to purchase last minute available tickets from supporters who have decided not to go on the day for whatever reason.

Recently went to a St Pauli game and their ticket system is great. Resale function built into the website.

Provided that the function to hand the tickets back is straightforward, then there is nothing wrong with this.

The admin around doing this - especially if you have children's tickets - is all important.

The 100 club in the Bob Lord all must have 3 yellow cards

Been to Athletic Bilbao a couples of times, and they have a resale facility for season ticket holders.

In theory a good idea as long as the Exchange works, but there are always a few people who struggle, e.g. mentally handicapped, old and frail, not tech savvy, people often overseas, long term health conditions (where somebody may have a physical condition that flares up regularly and listing a ticket isn’t in their mind).

So a good idea as long as the club don't punish reasonable excuses. As ever, its the vulnerable in society who can suffer with such schemes.
