How many points from the next run of games?

Following a tough run, we now have what you'd like to think is an easier next five matches where we can pick up the points required to all but secure promotion.

Our next tough run looks to be in April, when we face Sunderland, Boro and Sheff United.

How many points do you see us getting from the next five?

Huddersfield (H)
Blackpool (A)
Wigan (H)
Hull (A)
Rovers (A)

13

Be on 86 points by the international break, above the average needed for promotion in this league

*worth noting we might not play Rovers if one of us progress in the cup

At this stage of the season, clubs at the bottom will be fighting for their championship lives whilst some others are hoping to make the play offs. Strange results happen in these times so I don’t think anything can be taken for granted. If the Clarets play like we know they can, then there shouldn’t be any shocks.

We should be on 80+ points after these 5 games, and if we are as good as we can be ... in the mid 80 points.

Five very winnable games with breathing space between ……….. except for a “winnable” but fiercely contested cup game in the middle. So I believe that our success rate in these games may very much depend on how we approach the game against Fleetwood.

Obviously we don’t want any more enforced absences through injuries or suspensions, in fact much will depend on how quickly the likes of Beyer, Benson, TH-B and Rodriguez can make their come-backs.

So providing we can dispose of Fleetwood quickly and without drama by utilising the full squad (I.e. Foster, Churlinov, Obafemi, Bastien etc.) I’m confident that another 15 points is likely from these fixtures.

Don't tell me - another 'toughest game of the season so far'? :D
We've had 32 of those this season according to some.

These next 3 games will most likely be much tougher than they would have been a couple of months ago.
They've all 3 recently changed managers and Warnock and McCarthy will have made their 2 teams much harder to beat. They're also at the crucial stage of the season when they have to start to put up a real fight if they are to survive.
The longer these games remain 0-0, then the more they will fancy themselves to nick one as Millwall did.
We are of course much better than all 3 but as Surat (above) suggested we shouldn't take 9 points for granted.

Ideally, 12 points with a FA Cup Quarter Final spot achieved & the Rovers game postponed to a date where a win at Ewood will secure either promotion or the title !! Realistically, maybe 8 points and the Quarter Final achieved, no new injuries and some players back ....

Fun fact: We already have the same number of points we achieved in the 1993-94 play-off promotion season ( 73 ), and we've still got 13 matches left !!

I think Rovers will get postponed but I have full belief we will win the rest, and get past Fleetwood!
