Hi all,

Looking to catch the last train towards Leeds after the game today. Timings with changes once at Leeds are tight to catch last trains home.

For those who usually get this train after evening games, is it usually on time or frequently delayed ?

I used to get the train the opposite way towards Preston after each game and it was always delayed !

Thanks in advance.

I've just looked at the trains. Which one are you looking at? There's one at 9:21 from Manchester Road which you have no chance of getting, the next is at 9:39 (maybe you could get that but it will be tight) via a change at Tod and then there's one at 10:20 which I suspect is the one people would usually get after a later kick off.

I normally get the 22:20 train back to Halifax and it has had a good success rate and if delayed only by a couple of minutes rather than 10/15 mins+ delay.

If the game goes to extra time and pens, you may need to miss penalties to get the train on time, or there is another train at 22:59 back to West Yorkshire though I normally try and avoid the last train because if it is cancelled then you're stuck.

Thanks both.

@ClaretTony - I had looked at the 22:20 as it seemed best chance of not having to rush (especially with chance of ET/Pens). T

@claretburns - Excellent call with the 22:59. I had been searching my end destination that showed 22:20 as the last train. I can take solace in the fact that I can still get to Leeds even on a later train if cancellations occur. Can work a Taxi from there.

Cheers both- Very helpful ! UTC

You can also reach out to West Yorkshire Clarets, as there's loads who drive over from there and back. EG JDRobbo, but he'd only be able to take you as far as BRADFORD.
