Muric 7 - confident in what he needed to do, clean sheet
Roberts 6 - saw a lot of the ball today but wasn’t quite incisive enough
Ekdal 7 - clean sheet and defended well when required
Beyer 7 - same as above
Vitinho 4 - poor defending and attacking
Cullen 8* - recycled the ball effectively enough and his off the ball work was superb
Brownhill 6 - we’ve been really unlucky with injuries lately
Tella 7 - lively but wasteful in the final third
JBG 6 - some good bits but wanted him to be more creative
Zaroury 4 - amount of games catching up a bit
Barnes 7 - did well enough but he has to be gambling more on these balls fired across the face of goal

Twine 6 - not sure a right sided 8 suits him, mixed afternoon of good passing but like the others a bit wasteful
Obafemi 6 - couldn’t get involved

We’ve played a LOT of games lately which catches up with any team. Bit of a tired performance especially the final third with some key players off the boil / out injured. Benson grabs that game by the scruff of the neck and makes something happen. But still the miles better team on the day and should have won, defended pretty fine and limited them to basically nothing.

Went from our best performance (1st half especially) last weekend to our poorest. Very sloppy in possession, passing was a bit off and generally a bit meh for the whole game. A points a point but it’s a bit frustrating when it’s against a team who are more than likely to be 2 divisions apart from us next season

We looked tired, in need of a free week, kept a clean sheet and extended our lead over Sheff Utd. I will take that and onto next weekend where we will hopeful see a refreshed team.

Obafemi is NOT a winger. I find it very strange VK puts him out wide. Tella is also not really a winger. So when Zaroury went off we didn’t really have an outlet out wide.

A game we should have won, but didn't deserve to.
When teams sit deep you have to move the ball a lot, lot quicker than we did today, and you HAVE to put the ball in early. We made it too easy for them.

Expect every team to set up like Blackpool for the rest of the season because a point is a good result against us. The did their jobs well but still needed their keeper to keep them in it with 3 decent saves. Losing Brownhill disrupted things and there were a couple of odd decisions in terms of personnel but we've been playing every 3-4 days for ages now so a clear week will do us good.

Muric 6 nowt to do apart from claim a couple at the end

Roberts 6 a few duff decisions and he didn't work brilliantly with Tella

Ekdal 7 slow as actual Tony Adams but strong as him also

Beyer 8 a class above

Vitinho 4 not great at all, said before the game Taylor should have started and so it proved

Cullen 8 metronome. Absolutely everywhere today.

Brownhill 6 looked like he went over his ankle on the drop off the pitch in front of us so expect its a sprain at least. We missed his energy after he'd gone.

Gudmundsson 7 calm and assured as ever and used the ball better than most. V unlucky with his curler.

Zaroury 4 proper toss. As bad a game as he's had for us.

Tella 7 our biggest threat throughout but very lucky to not get himself sent off on two occasions after he'd been booked for a challenge he didn't need to make

Barnes 7 need him on the pitch today but the one issue is that he was never in the box when we needed him there. Did a lot of work telling Twine where to be.

Twine 6 free kick looked either a cracker or it topped off the wall, either way it was a top save. He's still got a lot to learn has Twine but he'll only do it by playing games so the will have done him a lot of good.

Obafemi 5 not remotely a winger so it was a strange choice to bring him on out there. Knows he has to work though, his sprint back was quicker than Tella's when he picked up his booking. Should have left the challenge to Obafemi.


Decent game, a draw was fair and we get a week off now before another lot come and put 11 behind the ball.

Not at our best today, but the only way Blackpool could deal with us is if they pretending that the half way line was our goal and that reaching that was an achievement

Very tired display up front. The fact that neither Tella or Zaroury could get the ball under their control was the breakdown of many promising situations.

Signs of a young team tiring a little during a busy schedule. We weren't great but got a good point in a tough derby. We may have been spoilt somewhat by too many 3 and 4 nil wins.

Brownhill 5 Whilst not at his best IMO over the last few games we miss his industry and workrate
Cullen 6 Good at what he does but needs to work on his finishing if he is to play further forward
JBG 7 A bit in and out in this one
Zaroury 4 Struggled against a full back who seemed to have him sussed
Tella 7 MoM Never stopped wanting the ball, giving 100% throughout and unlucky with his late effort
Barnes 6 Poor service to him but they doubled up on him limiting his contribution

Twine 5 Still adjusting to the physicality for me but I believe he will go on to be an asset
Obafemi 6 Thought he would have played through the middle seemed wasted out wide

As VK says one of those days, move on, I think a week off from matches will help.

This. Credit to them for keeping it tight but even then they needed their keeper to make some fine saves.

I think some of the scores are a bit harsh really and reflective if the feeling that it was probably 2 pts dropped. Most get 7s for me other than vithino (5/6) who isn't really as effective now the team has kicked on and Zaroury (5) who was a bit off ut today (but then he's allowed some bad days

A weird game to score because although it felt like we dominated and we definitely had the best chances to score, Blackpool put up stiff opposition and looked far more likely to escape the drop than that sad shower from Huddersfield last week. We absolutely battered them for half an hour and it simply looked a matter of time before we took the lead, but then Brownhill went off and suddenly Blackpool started to get into the game, albeit largely on the break. After that I always feared the break away goal or the one set piece opportunity which could undo us. We had plenty of the ball, but so many of our usually silky players seemed to have a slightly off day and I think some of that is down to our clear tiredness after a hectic schedule, but some was down to Blackpool making it difficult and harassing us. Zaroury was poor, Twine flattered to deceive, Tella had loads of the ball, but couldn't make it happen and Obafemi surely hasn't been bought to play left wing. Having said that, their goalkeeper saved them on at least 4 occasions with great saves and we moved a point nearer our ultimate goal. On a side note, I thought the backing from their fans was excellent considering where they are atm, even if it was rather too focused on us rather than their team.

They set out for a 0-0 draw and only tried to win the game in the last 10 minutes. The didn’t have a shot on target because their set piece and shooting quality was so poor.
But they did work hard and defended well.
We were a long way from our best but still miles better than them in pretty much every department. 2 or 3 of our team had off days which is understandable after so many games.

Muric 7 : not a shot to save but good on crosses and his passing was decent.

Roberts 6 : thought he was very good in first half and then poor second half with a number of misplaced passes.
Ekdal 6 : steady and pretty composed but showed a bit of an alarming lack of pace !!
Beyer 8 MoM : tried to drive us forward and he was a class above every player on the pitch today
Vitinho 5 : nothing went right for him today

Cullen 7 : consistently good
Brownhill 6 : Hope injury not too serious as we will miss him
JBG 7 : thought he played well but like rest of team a bit careless in last 20 mins when we usually step up out play.
Zaroury 5 : like Vitinho nothing went right for him but let’s not forget how young he is and how good he has been.
Tella 7 : thought he had a good game and looked our main threat. He hung on to the ball too long at times or tried to turn his man too many times and needs to release it and get the ball in as Barnes has already made his move. If Tella does not know what he is going to do at times then there’s little or no chance his team mates will !!

Barnes 7 : held up the ball really well and one of the few players who was not sloppy in possession today.

Twine 5 : good free kick and couple of really nice switch passes but we need more from him.
Obafemi 5 : strange decision to bring him on rather than push JBG out wide. He’s not a winger and never took on his man once or tried to cross the ball….but I thought his touch and passing were actually pretty decent. Could have done with him next to Barnes as he looked like he could link up play

We really missed not having Benson today.

No biggie - we got one more point than Sheff Utd yesterday and did not play as bad as some of the marks given against a team fighting for their life and who put 10 players behind the ball for 80 minutes
