Brownhill
What’s his injury?
A few twitter rumours saying ACL, I hope not as that would be his season over, arguably our best player

Which rumours? From where?Hurstwood_Claret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 10:49 pmWhat’s his injury?

Re: Brownhill
I’d be amazed if someone can provide an answer less than eight hours after the incident. It looked innocuous, hopefully not as bad as an ACL.Hurstwood_Claret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 10:49 pmWhat’s his injury?

Re: Brownhill
Rolled his ankle slightly when on the touchline. Hopefully minor swelling and no ligament damage

Comments from some posters on the match thread suggested he was out for the season within 3 minutes.

Re: Brownhill
I thought it was his knee. VK not happy about the astro turf and said his studs got stuck in it on the pitch surround.
He did walk off, but I know that doesn't always mean good news.
On a side note as there's several threads about our fans behaviour,. I was amazed today that the stewards let a single fan almost walk the full width of the pitch behind the goal abusing Brownhill as he limped back to the bench with the physio.

Re: Brownhill
Was on crutches and protective boot on the sidelines hopefully all precautionary
Re: Brownhill
Sounds precautionary from a full-on skeletal collapse, not a tap on the ankle. It doesn't sound like a few days.Sheedyclaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 11:08 pmWas on crutches and protective boot on the sidelines hopefully all precautionary

Re: Brownhill
Well I called Maatsen out for the season with an ACL last week from the JMU.
Got home and found he had a minor shoulder injury

Re: Brownhill
He went down right in front of me and though he was hidden behind the ad boards for a period I thought at the time it looked like a twisted ankle. It happened when he tried to control a hard pass, not when he went off the pitch onto the fake stuff.
Off topic but thought it a big mistake not to put Cork on for him to give us drive in midfield. Too many flair players today sometimes ironically hampers us going forward.

Re: Brownhill
Sooner they ban and get rid of fake pitch boarders the better.
While they are at it also the slopes pitch side.
Accidents just waiting to happen.
Brownhill clearly had no footing / grip due to the surface just outside the white line
Our ground is just as bad if not worse - a scating ring if wearing studs infront of the Longside.
Plus Ad' Boards at both goal ends far too close to the pitch.

Re: Brownhill
Can’t edit this now but forgot to add, what I meant above was that I saw he did something as he tried to control the ball, he may well have done something else or worsened it as he stumbled off the pitch, he was behind the boards by that point.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 11:21 pmHe went down right in front of me and though he was hidden behind the ad boards for a period I thought at the time it looked like a twisted ankle. Re: Brownhill
He controlled the pass, and when planting his foot down outside the pitch on the fake stuff, he rolled his ankle when trying to push off again. Slow mo replays showed it and at first I didn't think it looked too bad, certainly seen worse with players carrying on but what's the point in risking aggravating it more
Re: Brownhill
Then he should be equally unhappy with our own pitch surround!Andreshotboots wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 11:01 pmI thought it was his knee. VK not happy about the astro turf and said his studs got stuck in it on the pitch surround.

Re: Brownhill
Back ‘before the end of the season’ according to VK
Good news that means it’s not an ACL but bad news in the sense it could be a month or so
Also says Maatsen should be back before the international break

Re: Brownhill
I was sat in the Blackpool end behind the goal. So this incident with the fan was right in front of me. Was amazed that the stewards did very little to stop him. And then a second fan stood up and did exactly the same.Andreshotboots wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 11:01 pmI thought it was his knee. Couldn’t hear what was being said but I expected the fan would be dragged away or kicked out. Not just left to continue.

Re: Brownhill
Slipped on the astro-turf and rolled his ankle.
Re: Brownhill
Roberts played a simple but **** pass to him which meant he had to awkwardly stretch so presume some sort of muscle strain or tear

At least we have Cork to cover, and at a push Bastian if JC goes over the allowed yellow cards for a 3 match suspension

Re: Brownhill
Twine nearly did the exact same thing about 20 mins after, the pitch actually looked like it was a hill within the lines of play, absolutely disgraceful playing surface

Re: Brownhill
Absolutely. In any other industry Health & Safety would be all over this.VK mentioned the Astro turfed touchlines but we have them. Get rid of our own before complaining about others.HunterST_BFC wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 11:28 pmSooner they ban and get rid of fake pitch boarders the better.

Rolled his ankle. He was in good spirits last night though, still on crutches with a protective boot on but he was hoping it wasn’t too bad.
