How does this actually work, do we need to win the title the game before this one? Surely you can't just wait for this game to ask for it, if we'd won it 4 games before?

Not certain on this at all, but isn't it the case that you can have a guard of honour at all matches after you win the title?

We need the title won before we go there, but if we have then we've every right to ask.

There is absolutely no chance that will happen, title won or not.

I'd prefer the lads to saunter onto the pitch doing keepy uppies or farting about in general, each of them wearing the most smug grin imaginable.
We then proceed to dismantle Rovers with a flourish.

We gave a guard of honour to Fulham, cira 1999. Then we beat the **** out of them

Who cares if we get a guard of honour or not, let's just show them why we're easily the best side in this division.

Blackburn open to it apparently. I guess when you've been taking it for so long it can't hurt.

I was told about this yesterday at Blackpool.

First time I ever saw this was in 1961 when we gave Spurs a guard of honour after they'd won the title that we'd won a year earlier.

Certainly doesn't sound like Kompany at all. His only focus is on the next game.

Well nobody else is getting ahead of us this season, that's for sure.

I doubt we've asked for a guard of honour, it's always been something the other clubs decides to do if they want to hasn't it.

I'd rather they didn't do stuff like that until the last game anyway, makes things more like a friendly.

We gave Spurs a guard of honour in 1961 when they were last champs
0-2 down to the mighty Spurs at H/T. 4-2 final score

What a load of ********. Even if we won the title before the Rovers fixture Kompany would not allow this as it would be tacky as hell.

Don't think there'll be much of a home attendance unless a play off place depends on it.

It involves one side standing and the other 4000 running onto the pitch and kicking hell out of them.

I’m not happy about asking.

The way Rovers are playing atm, they are going to get in the play offs and our game there will be far from easy. Just glad that the game has been put back now.

I don't think we give a toss either way, it's great mind games - ask for one, know we aren't getting it and Kompany says just as the lads walk out - they have no respect for you. Easy team talk

100%

Don't know if this message board is representative of the general feeling of Burnley fans, but , there's one hell of a lot of taking things for granted.

Time to wind our necks in and take the time honoured "let's just take each game at a time "

Celebrate when when there's something to celebrate shall we eh lads !?

Why are you making the same odd comment on multiple threads? If you're not expecting people to get a bit carried away when we're SEVENTEEN points clear of third, you're going to have a long wait. Think I preferred it when you copy and pasted stuff from Guido Fawkes.

Drug taking all over the show, one man dead, people being carried to their seats because they was too drunk to walk and that was a 3pm kick off, fighting between themselves, could you imagine an 8pm kick off we these idiots drinking and taking drugs all day.

Well I certainly didn't see any drug taking but even if there was, I'm fairly sure that the habit isn't confined to just our fans. The death of the Blackpool fan is very very sad but let's not jump to conclusions as to how this incident developed.

An unfortunate punch is someone falling back and hitting their head on the curb. It's indirect. It's not directly

We are splitting hairs but thats the consequence of a reckless punch. Is a punch that doesn’t cause someone to fall and hit their head described as a fortunate punch?
