Purely out of curiosity, who is interested in posts stating how many places are left for a particular match? There are quite a few of this type of post on here recently.

I like to see how we are doing re ticket sales for upcoming matches. I find it i interesting to see the the number of seats reducing as we sell. Crossing fingers for a sell out. But as I write this I cannot stop myself thinking. You boring B*****D

Well the club don’t seem to do very well in posting updates on ticket availability so somebody has too

It’s moderately more interesting than the adeola thread.
I usually find that not clicking on the threads that don’t interest me does the trick.

I see there’s a thread saying that The Wigan and Sheffield Utd tickets are selling fast. I’m gonna check on our progress.

I would suspect, the people who read and post on the threads.
Happy to help.

This is a very good point.
Ian McL’s post clearly get people buying, I have no idea why the club don’t advertise every game when say 500 or 200 tickets are left.

Well....in the beginning
There are a lot of tickets available for each home or away match.
Then, over time, the tickets sell. Lot's of folk carry on oblivious but contemplate getting a ticket, nearer the day, as always...just in case something gets in the way, at the last.
Then a post appears....not too many left folks.
Then whoosh....all those who don't want to miss out, purchase.
Sold Out
Up the Clarets.
Of course, if you are not interested in ticket sales or sat nicely, armed with an ST and just waiting to take your usual seat....then no need to view at all.

I too find it helps enormously to not click on any thread in which
I have no interest.
Try it, you could be pleasantly surprised.

Began on the Claretsmad site and has been going for years. Gets it's name from Ade Akinbiyi (Adeola Akinbiyi.) I rarely scroll through it but it's a bit of silly innocent word-association nothingness which I find can be a bit refreshing with some of the misery often going on.

I don't even go to games (for obvious reasons) and I think it's interesting ! Seems some people can't help but complain.

I'm a season ticket holder, so it shouldn't interest me but the threads have helped me notify friends this season before a game has headed to sold out.
The club have been useless with tickets comms this season, worst I can remember

I am not complaining. I asked a question out of simple curiosity after noticing quite a few posts about ticket sales.
To answer one response, I have read one of the posts, but probably won't bother reading any of the others.

The trend of only putting a subset of the title in the Subject, then posting the remainder as the first line of the new thread, really doesn't help in deciding if a thread is worth visiting or not.
But back to the subject - I find these posts interesting as it helps with both managing ticket purchases and builds up the anticipation of the game.
Wish we could do it for away days too but the information can be more difficult to get hold of

You can start a thread about anything you find interesting, or want to talk about.
Within reason.

The post about low numbers of tickets for the Cardiff game prompted me to buy tickets for this game as i am planning to travel up. So there is interest and it does provide information for those who want/need it. As said previously, if you are not interested, click another thread.

It's a football supporter message board, so surely it's not weird that people post about things related to football and Burnley football club in particular. Not everyone is 100% interested in everything discussed, but that's just how people are because they're all different I guess.

I find them both interesting and helpful. Living in Hampshire don't get to many home games but this season my son and I have been to quite a few and we planned to go to the final Cardiff match. Fortunately we are still able to do so given the nudge provided by one of these threads. So it is a big thumbs up from us.

Has helped me in the past.. I'd often decided late on to attend and made the 400 mile trek up from here presuming I'd walk into the ticket office on Saturday morning and choose my seat.
Can't do that these days. These threads have been useful elbow joggers.

Don't ever click on the food count posts. Not sure you will manage being asked how many beans in a tin

Well I am interested knowing how ticket sales are progressing - or not.
I believe that the fact we now have a waiting list for new season ticket holders is not just because we seem v likely to get promoted, but the quality of the new exciting football we are playing at the moment

Exactly.

Maybe we should split the forum into two, we could have a section for topics related to number of seats left and then another section for everything else.

Have to be another sub split as well
Those who know we are up and can prove it mathematically versus those who know we are up but can't

Maybe, but the Food Count is one of the few threads that people who partake are seeing it for what it is…a bit of a pre match giggle. It can be informative though, if you were having friends round and you were wondering how many jars of pickled walnuts you might need
I think most threads are of an interest to someone one way or another

All these sub-splits just confuse things further. All we need is one split:
Thread people are interested in
Threads people are not interested in
