Is Guddy playing centre mid?

Weird. Churlinov obviously on his way out if Vitinho is preferred on the wing. I can’t say I understand that line up but I’m sure we’ll see it play out just fine in the end!

Do we think JBG playing a deeper CM role today? Interesting no Twine and Cork+Bastien only make the bench. Expected one of the three to play alongside Cullen.

Looks like we're going 2 attacking midfielders and Cullen, instead of 2 holding midfielders?

Is Cork not fully fit? I’d have staked my house on him playing today.

Just hoping we play Tella up front and not wide

Very surprised Cork isn't in the team. Very attacking. UTC 👍

Or he could just be injured?

Is this the 4222 that he was expected to play when he first came?

Could it be...

Cullen
JBG Tella
Vitinho Barnes Zaroury

Played for the 23s last Sunday and Saturday someone on here spoke to him at the charity dinner where he said he wasn’t injured

I think Barnes and Tella up top with Barnes a bit deeper, Cullen and JBG in a 2

Maybe Roberts in centre mid and Vitinho at right back?

That's what we've been playing, Cullen sitting and brownhill and JBG behind Barnes.

With Vitinho able to go into LB/RB, I think he's just not made the bench and we're going ultra-attacking.

Cannot see Vitinho playing in an 8 type role, just does not have the attributes to play there.

Gudmundsson played CM for the 2nd half against PNE and at Blackpool after Brownhill went off and Twine came on.

I think it’s just two attacking midfield players. We’ve seen city do it a lot with de bruyne and David silva originally playing together in cm with just Fernandinho behind.

Strange indeed, feel like we lack width and he's always positive in his play. Although hopefully we've got enough firepower for them

I think its brilliant when trying to forecast the starting 11 is so difficult and then knowing which players VK has picked where they are going to play.

JBG and brownhill were both playing as 8s at Blackpool.

I was at Blackpool and sometimes it feels like when sides go ultra attacking in personnel it can actually lead to fewer goals. A bit like the problems playing against 10 men.

So I am a little nervous, I wish we had Cork in, when he plays we win, but hopefully they could play me in there and we would still win today.

Seen him on the club video walking in with the rest, not sure if that suggests he is or isn’t.

I know there's only 11 players there but it somehow feels like 12 or 13, I dunno.

It wasn't long ago we were complaining about us having no forwards on the bench. Now we have 3 and only one defender.

As someone alluded too already, Churlinov is injured.

Surprise that Cork isn't starting, however glad to see Maatsen back he was a big miss last week, and 3 strikers on the bench.

He's has issues regaining fitness after his long injury and then his illness.
You have seen when he's played he's struggled.

He played for the 23s last weekend and said it was a management decision.

After studying it further we do have a superb squad.
Muric injured, BPF good cover.
FB injured, Vitinho will drop back in either side.
CB injured, Al-Dakhil first on and Cork as second choice.
Wide injured, JBG goes out and Cork comes on.
Striker injured, take your pick. Any one from three

I know he did. Already read that post. He played no doubt to improve his fitness and match sharpness. He's not ready for first team quite yet.

Dervisoglu is a real surprise for me. Can’t imagine any situation where he could get on.

Very interesting - thinking it’s probably a system that has been worked on in training to break down teams that sit in their own half for 90 minutes.

I have a feeling that Guddy will be playing central

Good that we do have such strength in depth as our squad is being severely tested with the recent spat of injuries.

We’ve been playing the 4-1-4-1 lately with Brownhill and JBG the two 8s. Without Brownhill I’m not sure who in that 11 plays as the second 8. Soon find out…

How’s this for a shot?
JJ Watt is in the house and the pitch looks football perfect.
