Cullen
Cullen
I need to start a thread about this lad.
What can we say about this amazing footballer ? For me, the player of the season and my, we could choose many players from this quite simply, fantastic team.
He’s going to rock the prem next season - exciting times indeed !

Outstanding again today, as usual, though he may need some physicality alongside him in the PL.

Re: Cullen
Really looking forward to seeing him in the Prem. Was buzzing when we signed him as from the research I’d done on Kompany at Anderlecht it was clear he was a key cog. All his underlying numbers at Anderlecht looked superb too but he’s been even better than I expected. Particularly since the Blackburn game (possibly his best yet) he’s been excellent.

Re: Cullen
Absolutely brilliant today and my MOM without doing anything flashy or particularly eye catching. He's a metronome and makes everything tick and every (successful) team needs one. I worry about him at the higher level which we're aspiring to as if he "had it" I don't think he'd have ended up at relegated Burnley, but on that we'll see.

Re: Cullen
Said it may times on here and I’ll say it again, the physicality isn’t an issue, he bats off far bigger players like they are kids. He’s a brilliant footballer.
Re: Cullen
You can see why VC was keen to get him in as one of his first signings.

Re: Cullen
Fabulous player who doesn't always get the credit he richly deserves.
Re: Cullen
Felt like it was him and him alone in the centre of midfield today and boy was he bossing everything, albeit against a poor side. The most understated of players I think I've ever come across, but everything he does is so pivotal, take him out and I think we're are only half as good a team. Can't wait for next week's test of our players.

Doesn’t get too much praise due to not getting the goals and assists but anyone who’s played football can appreciate how difficult his job is and how easy he makes it look.
My player of the season so far hands down.

Re: Cullen
It's mad that any one of about six or seven players could win our POTY award and it'd be difficult to argue against it. In any other season someone like Vitinho would be hailed as the bargain of the century, signing of the season, our best prospect, because he's really talented, he has potential to grow, he's versatile, and he was cheap as chips, but he's being overshadowed by Tella, Cullen, Beyer, Maatsen, Zaroury, even Ekdal and Roberts at this moment, and yet every other team in the league would take him in a second.

Re: Cullen
As all footballers should he knows where all his passes are before he receives the ball. He gets his body shape right and that makes everything that follows so much easier for him.
I’d been lucky enough to see him in the Rep of Ireland side before we signed him.
A class act.

Re: Cullen
The signings of the last two windows that started today were roughly the same price combined as 1 x length of Wout Weghorst.
Muric (about £2.5m)
Ekdal (about £2.5m)
Cullen (£3m)
Zaroury (£3.5m)
Vitinho (£1m, famously)
= £12.5m

I absolutely love him. He makes everything look so easy, it’s been effortless to him this season. He absolutely cruises it and I mean that with no disrespect to him at all as he covers every blade of grass and works his ******** off.

Every time I see a thread about Josh Cullen I have to contribute , even though I have nothing original to say . I just have to agree that he is one fantastic footballer and, as has been pointed out , a ridiculous bargain !
Re: Cullen
Cullen was my MOM today. Absolute class.
Re: Cullen
I remember saying after Huddersfield away that Cullen was a fantastic player and key to our new playstyle, really glad he's getting all the plaudits because he really has been exceptional.

Re: Cullen
I agree. Absolutely everything went through him. I don't think i saw him give the ball away today and he's so unselfish. Best midfielder we had for years in that role. Did anyone else see all the Anderlecht fans in the James Hargreaves stand. We had a chat with them after the game and they said he is the player they have missed more than anyone this season.

Re: Cullen
Cullen is a magnificent footballer. He makes us play and knits us together with an incredible level of control and composure.
File with Graham Alexander and David Jones for professionalism. The kind of person who would go to a party and have a glass of water or a cup of tea (no sugar).
We always get on early as my nephew always wants to watch the players warm up and during the running warm up Cullen is always at the front of the line and usually up against Maatsen at the front of the other line. When it comes to the sprint Cullen tends to beat Maatsen! We all just laugh!! It’s clear Maatsen is quicker but Cullen’s determination and professionalism during the warm up is exemplary.
He has been so important to us this season and will be very important again next season. A great player and a great character.
