Train strikes Man City away

Post by Awayfromburnley » Mon Mar 13, 2023 10:23 am

It appears RMT have called off their strike this week but service providers are still striking. The RMT move will apparently mean the impact of the strikes will be less.

Looks like the traun timetable for Saturday will be updated on Wednesday, according to nationalrail.

I need to make plans-does anyone know how badly trains will be affected? (ie does anyone on here work for any rail provider?)

Very limited to no service if strike goes ahead.

It's likely to vary from operator to operator - they all negotiate separately, so will depend on how disgruntled the staff feel with their employer.
I would say it's fairly safe to say there'll be next to nothing on TPE as they struggle to run a service when there's not a strike.

When there's been limited service on previous strike days it's generally only been to about 6pm, so you might be able to get to the game but will have to plan an all nighter celebrating afterwards.

No way round waiting until Wednesday.

According to the Northern website there's no trains out of Burnley or into Manchester on Saturday - https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/travel/strikes
