Have never seen them live but the film "The song remains the same" is a great watch (a tad indulgent at times but some fantastic footage of US concerts)

We were on a river cruise and a Russian violinist who played an Electric Violin was the entertainment one evening on board ... his rendition of "Kashmir" from "Physical Graffiti" was sublime and took me back to my Teens....

Led Zep were certainly a musical force in the 70s and onward. They were also plagiarists and at least one, Jimmy Page, was a complete nonce with a taste for underage girls.
Whole lotta love, The Lemon Song, Dazed and Confused, When the Levee Breaks all had elements stolen from other artists that went uncredited.
They put on a good show though

I listen to them every day and was at Knebworth on 11th August 1979 - 4 days before my 18th birthday.
Still have the program and sweatshirt I bought on the day.

Greatest band ever and they had the class not to continue after the loss of Bonzo.

Ive always liked "Stairway to heaven" but did not see them Live.

Went up on a mini bus from college to see them at Newcastle City Hall, about Nov. ‘69

The only person I've enjoyed from Zep is Plant. He's a quality singer who can turn his voice to a wide variety of genres (like Daltrey). In particular I liked his work with Alisson Krauss. Their voices were an excellent match for harmonies.

Different band obviously but did anyone hear the Def Leppard/Royal Philharmonic collaboration on Zoe Ball's Radio 2 show this morning? Sounded immense.

Ive actually seen 2 zep tribute bands , whole lottta led and lets zep. At king George’s in years past. If you ever want to get a get a feel for the power of the music live well worth a punt

Saw them at Knebworth in 1979 aged 15 .... Chas and Dave were the support act !! Organisers claim there were 109,000 there, I reckon it was nearer to 200,000.

Rolling Stones at Roundhay Park ( 1982 ), Springsteen ( Wembley 1985 ), Live Aid ( 1985 ) ...

Springsteen didn't do Live Aid, an omission he says now is one of his big regrets, although he paid for the stage from his 4th July show to remain in place for the " Live Aid " show which was 9 days later ...

Love Led Zeppelin and Robert Plant however the extent of their plagiarism is quite breath taking.

Plant lifted lyrics from old Blues songs completely intact. One of the great re-inventors of old blues songs but they should have come clean from the start.

Also loved Plant and Strauss's work with T Bone Burnett who also produced BB King's fine last album ...

In your opinion

Got into their music through my mum and dad. My own two favorite albums of Zeps are Physical Graffiti, even though Kashmir is way overplayed, and Presence. Their worse crime, regarding plagiarism, is not crediting any of the original songs they lifted, not even in the sleeve notes.

Btw, taking my dad to see Brian Jonestown Massacre in September. I'll give him one thing, he never got stuck in a rut with his music.

It is like you say sensational I have loved that track since I first heard it,and it's still in my top ten favourites all these years later I never tire of listening to it.

Been into Zep for a while and was lucky enough to see John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page perform with the Foo Fighters a few years back. It also helps that as a drummer, Bonzo is my hero.

Immigrant song, Communication breakdown and Rock and Roll being my favourites.

I do love, given Zep’s level of plagiarism, the vitriol towards bands like Greta Van Fleet who again essentially play similar tunes and get pilloried for ripping off the mighty Zep.

Few bands in the age of huge recording contracts plagiarised quite a shamelessly as Led Zeppelin.

I like Plant's work where he re-interprets old material like Little Maggie. One of his albums is called the Mighty ReArranger - irony intended I'm sure.

I really like The Rover.

Page and Plant unleaded show is great, recorded in Morocco. Page was into his acoustic stuff too. Kashmir with the Egyptian orchestra is great.

A case of who you believe and who you don’t, I accept that. What is not in dispute is Page’s taste for under age girls. That will always be a stain on Led Zeppelin because there is no way the other band members didn’t know all about it.

I saw Led Zeppelin live back in 1971 (I'm very old..). I was working in Coventry and they were on at the Locarno ballroom one Thursday night in December. Went for a couple of pints beforehand, and 2 of us rocked up just as the gig started and ended up stood right at the back. After about 10 minutes, the lights came on and the band stopped. There had been a bomb scare called in and the place was being evacuated while they checked. Everyone trooped out, but being young and stupid we lurked around the bar trying not to get noticed, and went right down to the front when everyone came back in. Was on the front row jammed up against the stage and even today reckon it's the best concert I ever went to. This tour was just after Led Zep4 was released, and they were performing Stairway to Heaven for the first time on it. Ears still ringing a week later.

Loved Led Zeppelin back in the day. Saw them at Earls Court in 1975. Still like Robert Plant.
