Could we “dare to dream” to join the 100 club.
We could drop 10 points and get 100

Second tier since 1991/92
Leicester 2013/14: 102
Newcastle 2009/10: 102
Reading 2005/06: 106
Fulham 2000/01: 101
Sunderland 1998/99: 105
It doesn’t happen all too often, and it would be quite an achievement to get to 100 points.

100 points and 100 goals would be a brilliant ending to a fantastic season

That Reading team must be been something special to get to 106 points.

Think we will scrape 100 but just miss out on the record. Thinking back to the first 3 months of the season and we could easily have had another 6 points at this stage which is mental.

That’s the amazing thing , our points per game ratio once we got through the initial learning phase must be unprecedented, mental
as you say.

I remember at one point working out we should really have been around 12 points better off than we were. When we momentarily dropped down to near mid-table it was a bit crazy as we were already looking the best side in the division. But I guess we have picked up some wins when a draw may have been about right, so it maybe evened itself up a bit.

Looks pretty average...bar Glen Little of course, oh and John Oster

I think we were lucky to get a point at West Brom (even though we could have won it) and a draw probably would have been a fair result at Luton, but apart from those I'm struggling to remember any matches where we didn't deserve the points that we've got.

Absolute tosh. Some absolutely magnificent Championship players in that squad. They were fantastic. Credit where it is due. They absolutely demolished us at Turf Moor!

It’s a brilliant squad when you really look at it, solid across the board.

That Reading team was something else, and it would be a hell of an achievement if we could beat that record
Personally I think we'll just make close to 100, but not threaten the record
Course, I could be wrong!

The recent dropped points at Millwall and Blackpool will be the difference.

Every chance we can reach 100 points, doubt we'll threaten Reading's 106 though, and 100 goals might just prove beyond us.
We've certainly surpassed my expectations this season, and will create a few more club records yet.

I’ve been thinking all season that someone is going to take “a hell of a beating”. We’ve had plenty decent wins but so far, not the really big win I’ve been expecting.
Time to fully unleash them and go for the records!!

As it stands we can win 7 and draw 2 to match Reading's record, which seems possible at the moment.

Win the next 3 and we will be on a par with their total after 40 games. 6 behind at the minute.

I think 100 points is possible 106 will take some doing. As for 100 goals, the thing is that we are not the sort of team that hammers the opposition for 6,we seem to ease off after 3 and see the game out, so when we score just 1 or 2 which could be the case against Sheffield It'd and Middlesbrough, we won't make up the deficit

Actually, the world cup helped us as we won nine in a row straight after.

Yes - but it’s still led to a more condensed schedule. Small squads (what Reading had) might not have been able to cope as well (can cause more injuries).

Statistically 100+ points is actually likely. If we continue with our average points per game for the season we will make 103 or thereabouts. Although I haven’t worked it out our average since all those early draws must actually be higher meaning the record is possible. In fact it would mean a collapse of form of almost biblical proportions for us not to top 100. Given that so many managers are saying we are possibly the best Championship side ever would back that up.

Since we drew with Stoke, game 12 we have averaged 2.48. That gives us 22.32 over the next 9 games if we keep it up.

The early season draws helped make us the team we are now
It’s been amazing season and personally can’t fault anything
We are set for a very early promotion
Gonna win the league
Gonna get records
Hopefully massive points, massive goals and a lengthy unbeaten run. If not it’s still been brilliant

I grew up watching Glen Little and he's probably my favourite Burnley player, but I can't help thinking that he should've left Burnley quite a while before his eventual departure in 2004. At the age of 30 he was a regular in the Reading team which broke the Championship points record, and again the season after when they finished 8th in the Premier League.
If he'd left us after the 01/02 season I think he could've played for 4-5 years in the top flight, which to be honest given his ability is where he should have been.

They won promotion with 6 games to go, and the title with 5 games to go.

Cheers for that. Our average over the season is just under 2.25 but as you say if you look from game 13 when we really started to click it is higher. This would take us to a point or so of the record. It’s not over yet.

Wonder how they all got on in the following seasons? Can recall Leicester obviously managing to stay up after struggling for a good chunk of the season

Probably my favourite player too and I reckon the same applies to most fans born in early 90s. There was the potential Man City move for 5m. He talks about it in his UndrTheCosh episode. Can't remember if he says he should've gone or not in hindsight.

Newcastle finished 12th.
Reading finished 8th.
Fulham finished 13th.
Sunderland finished 7th.
So the omens are promising.

Aye, he was also on Jimmy Bullard’s podcast years ago and it sounded like Stan effectively refused to entertain any transfer bids that came in for him. Glen was a bit vague but I got the impression he almost couldn’t bring himself to raise the issue of potentially moving on with Stan. Sounds mad given how much player power there is nowadays, but it was a different time back then.
