If I was relying on the X43 to get me home I'd have left after 10 minutes 😉

I can see why you are called newclaret. As well as being new to Burnley you must be new football and to life in general.
What is embarrassing is spending so much energy judging what other people do at a football match that you felt the need to come on here!

To be fair to them, I wouldn’t have even gone there if someone had given me a ticket. We were always going try and go toe to toe with them and therefore to be utterly embarrassed by City.
I’m not surprised there’s an exodus. It’s utterly humiliating.

That's p1ss poor Beamish lad.

There's still going there to support the lads and even a day out.

I don't feel embarrassed and there's no feeling of being humiliated.

It was on the cards, for our young uns.

At 70 mins, it looked like we were going to concede some sort of record, so I'm not that surprised

Throw in train strikes, X43 being fuller and full and the weather as well

Fair play to those that stayed to the end

Not embarrassing at all.

Fair play to everyone who made the effort and incurred the expenditure and hassle to attend what was probably going to be another mullering at the hands of a world class team at home.

I didn't go, just watched in despair in my local pub, sorry if that makes me an embarrassing fan too.

Nah. Our record against City even when they were not backed by Oil Billions was utterly shocking. They have always humbled us.
I’ll likely not even bother going on when we play them in the league at home next season. It’ll be yet another smashing by them.

I once went home at Cardiff at half time at 3-0 down it is my choice ..
Just take it on the chin there will be another game soon ..
We have exceeded expectations beyond belief...they kept going if nothing else

Yes. He either states the bleeding obvious or loses the plot. There's no In-between with him, yet despite the mods naming and shaming him, he's still permitted to post on here.

Unbelievable.

If you leave the Etihad on 70 minutes you can jump in taxis lined up just outside.
If you wait until full time it's an hour wait for the tram or you're walking back to the centre.

Not unhappy. Just realistic. I don’t see any point in attending matches where you virtually have no chance at all of winning. City matches fall firmly into this category. Attending them is essentially an exercise in masochism.

One great thing about us winning a lot this season have been not having to read criticisms of our own fanbase which appears to be the default setting for some in the aftermath of a loss. It’s incredibly tedious.

Not me. 4 years ago, jaded and bored by our humdrum existence in the Prem I didn’t renew my ST. It had dawned on me that the 7th place finish and adventure in the Europa was actually the absolute peak of what we could achieve and I’d seen it.
I picked and chose my matches from there on in and gradually attended fewer and fewer games as our performances, even against the mediocre sides like us, got more and more tedious.
I realised I want to go on matches to enjoy the football as much as the win. The last few seasons under Dyche completely extinguished any passion I had for going on. As good as Dyche was for Burnley, I was glad that we got rid. He and we had stalled.
Kompany’s brand of football, along with my youngest daughter’s desire to come on and watch matches has brought me on again this season, and a ST has been bought for both of us. The main reason for this is because I don’t think we’ll be able to reliably come on on a match by match basis next term.
I can’t see us attending all the matches as I probably won’t bother coming onto the games like City as we’ll more likely then not get absolutely smashed, and I’ve no interest at all in watching such a one sided contest in person. Watching on telly this evening, I was quite happy to turn off after the third goal made an end of any contest that had existed.
We’ll never win anything whist we’re in the Prem, we’ll just make up the numbers. The best we can hope for is to stay up and, let’s be honest, even that gets boring after a while. Relegation was a blessed mercy for us in the end. It’s given us the best season we’ve had in years. All todays game has shown us is a taste of what we have to look forward to next term.

I respect your opinion 100%. When it’s people’s hard earned money being spent on watching games like today, I can totally understand why you don’t want to go. Equally, fair play to those fans who do go to watch 6-0 hammerings, because that’s no fun at all! I guess it’s the hope that kills you, but have games like today become so lopsided that the chance of winning is minuscule?

No. I’d have stayed at home and watched with my finger over the standby button.
Can you imagine travelling down to, sitting in the stadium with, and then having to travel back North with 40k+ jubilant and gloating Man City Fans? All on the maybe a one in twenty chance that we might just scrape a scabby win?

Like I said. As soon as we drew City we were out. We really needed someone else to know I them out for us. We were never going to do it.
