Well putting the result aside, what a shite stadium. Nothing but tourists with their flashlights taking photos and clearly no care of football what so ever. Felt more like you were having a shitty funday rather then build up to a game of football. Their atmosphere was absolutely awful and absolutely laughable. Couldn't hear anything other than our amazing support from start till finish. I heard a load of tourists having to be told who kompany actually was

I was surprised how shite it was. Had to collect a ticket from the South stand ticket office which was an old Porta cabin trailer in the car park..... No food stands in the outside away section and wasn't allowed in the bar area.

The steak pies were very good though (£5.50)

So if the brother of their current owner wanted to buy us and pump in the same sort of money it’d be a “no” from you then.

I think it's a good Stadium. Plenty of room in the concourse, good seats, good acoustics, decent.

If we had 10000 extra seats and could fill them with 'out-of-town' walk-ons and tourists, I would be well proud.

I did notice on tv, there was one point when there was a closeup. almost everyone on the front row on the opposite side was wearing half n half scarfs, and holding up their phones.

Out of all the 'new' stadiums, its one of the best. Atmosphere today was crap, but that's nowt to do with the ground.

Fantastic stadium saw James Brown supporting the Red hot Chilli Peppers back in 2004 absolutely fantastic atmosphere

My first time today and bar the result I thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Nice stadium, good seats, food was good albeit pricy (but not compared to other grounds). Atmosphere was great where I was too

It's the only ground I can remember being able to get Hot Vimto from a van at.I pxxxxd down last time we went there too.

Got a pint within 5 minutes at half time. No chance of that at Turf.

The actual stadium itself is excellent , good seats , concourse grub etc, fast service . It’s the whole cheap theme park tourist attraction experience around the ground with the half n half scarves, selfie sticks , makes it feel like some tourist hell between Disney and The Spanish steps . That’s modern corporate football though and is reflected by their awful atmosphere.

Burnley fans loud and clear on my tv.
To say there were over 40k city fans, they were awful atmosphere wise until the 5th goal woke them up abit.

Enhancing our ground and getting it into the 21st century is not selling it out. How much do we spend in markets compared to their fraudulent ways one of those still stuck in the 80s are we?

We parked at the Asda over the road. Stayed to the end, grabbed a McDonalds and was back in Leeds before 10pm. Much better than expected.

How dare they go to a football match on a dank Manchester Saturday evening, rather than being sat indoors watching the game on TV.

I took my grandson, and we both agreed it was a fantastic stadium. The stewards were very friendly. The food on the concourse brilliant, and hardly any queuing. The atmosphere in the ground was brilliant. I was surprised when my lad told me you could only hear the Burnley fans on the telly, because I hardly heard us in the ground.
OT in comparison is light years behind.

The facilities are great, good view, lots of room and well organised. It’s also a tourist theme park in the main, feels like going to a large cinema complex.

Harsh to judge the atmosphere, this is their equivalent of playing Fleetwood but I imagine it’s often the same. All about personal preference but much prefer a trip to Bramhall Lane or Villa Park.

No problem getting away. We parked 20 minutes walk away just off Ashton New Road. By the time we got back to the car, most of the football traffic had gone.

Agree it's not the best ground to get away from but still like city's ground, if you want to see tourists with no idea of football then head down to arsenal, that ground is a soulless place full of em!

Never been keen on the ground. Nice facilities etc but just feels very soulless, like most new grounds.

Nothing wrong with the ground but it is touristy, which comes with the success they’ve had. All the bits that they’ve historically mocked Man United for, they now have in abundance.

Down to personal views and experience obviously, but I've been several times and find it soulless and one of the stadiums I least prefer going to.

Im with the poster here but its not the stadium but how they treat away fans.

We parked on the opposite side of the ground than the away end, we were there early, away fans are not allowed in any of the fan zone areas, its in the stadium only.

Having walked around the stadium its no entry and you are told you have to walk outside the stadium and follow a path, luckily we were allowed through a gate (more on this later).

Then it was the search, scan your ticket then wait because you can't have more than six people in the queue to be searched. Then meet jobs worth interviewing a father asking for id to prove his son is of the concession age. This is still 90 minutes before KO.

Outside the away end is a devoid of any facilities at all so its in the stadium only.

On the way out its sorry mate you can't walk the ten yards you need to walk around the stadium but you have to walk out of the stadium toward asda onto the main road (no pun meant) and walk all around the stadium where you meet all the home fans anyway (the most dysfunctional arrangement I've seen since millwall where there is an away path to the train station where on the platform you meet all the home fans anyway)!!

The stadium itself is good, good concourse etc but the experience is rubbish.

There were some man city supporter experience staff there, i queried why away fans couldn't enjoy the fan zones, they didn't know they couldn't and there advice was go to asda and get some cans!!!

Well 2nd visit only, for me. Last time I climbed many steps. This time, I took the lift. 4 people with me going up. Just me going down!

Toilets roomy (although there a few women in there, having me the eye!).

Seats goid. Room for legs. Folk standing up not good. I seem to remember they insisted we sat, on my previous visit.

Missed out on programme. Didn't see any.

Food offerings looked decent. All ok.

Easy walk to car.

The Etihad looks great but won't have much in comparison to Maine Road in terms of atmosphere. It's why I really hope we stay at the Turf for as long as possible. Knock it, I do from time to time, but the alternative is very possibly a motorway junction stadium on an industrial estate.

Burnley should never leave Turf Moor.
It contains our soul.

Last few times we have been when we were in the Prem, there was never any issue wandering around the fan zones, seeing the live entertainment they had on etc. My lad and his mate even ended up playing some football on a small pitch they had set up for the kids on one of the occassions.

This time it was a very different atmosphere, mainly caused by the police and stewards. As for the ground, it's clearly a nice modern stadium, comfortable seating etc, but it's always souless. Even when they were all doing to Poznan it was half ars3d. When they went 4-0 up their fans still looked miserable.

Maybe it's because they are so used to success and not having that same desire?

As much as people slag off the 'Tourist' element supporting the big clubs, I do wonder why some people follow us.

A lad walked up late and made his way along the row in front only to reappear minutes later having done a circuit. He then attached himself to the end of the row, in the aisle until told by a Steward to go to his seat. Repeat the above, he then decided to stand with bloke in front with his young lad, look at his phone and basically not watch any of the game. After half time he sort of repeated the same to the point of distraction when I told him to sit down or sod off to his own seat.

He sat and texted throughout until the end.

He was 'out of it', something you can do anywhere without spending £30 plus expenses.

Very impressive, great views all round.

However, the atmosphere is never the same. The home atmosphere is almost entirely artificial, driven by flashing lights and the volume of the impressive tannoy system.

The aim is as much to drown out any genuine atmosphere from the away end as it is to promote a positive atmosphere among the tourists in the home end.

Yup.

It's the way that football is going. Only a matter of time and money until we have the equivalent speakers. One would imagine it's high on Mr. Pace's to-do list.

Facility wise, it's a massive improvement on crumbling terraces with unspeakable toilets but for those of us old enough to remember the kind of atmosphere those old terraces could generate something significant has been lost in the process.

We've got t'annoyed system!
