If it's a really small ground do the supporters now all have to stand toe to toe with each other?

Now a professional club with a wealthy owner. Scotland moved their training from Oriam to Queens Park, this week, because Oriam was considered to dangerous. The pitch was cutting up badly. John Carver said the training pitch at QP was PL standard.
Coyle has come from winning the league in India to improving QP. Good luck to him.

Queen's Park presently play their home games at Ochilview the home ground of Stenhousemuir, which likely explains the low attendances.

They do plan to play at Lesser Hampden again soon after it's been revamped, although the capacity will only be 1.774, and if they do go on to gain promotion to the SPL they'll certainly need a bigger capacity especially when the big city clubs come calling.

Can't be denied Coyle is doing a cacking job there. when he took the reins they were mid-table in League 1, now they are on the verge of finally being back in the Scottish top flight for the 1st time since 1958.

He'll probably get them promoted and then jump ship to a rival team that's '10 years in front' and start the cycle again

They sold Hampden a couple of years ago to the SFA which resulted in Queen's Park going full time, they were in Scottish League Two at the time and have rose through the divisions on the back of that sale and the money it generated.

They're basically playing in a league of Accrington Stanley budgets and they're the Man City, it would be embarrassing if they weren't top of the league.

When I was a kid I supported Queens Park in the Scottish leagues as I got a subbuteo team given as a present and for some reason I still don’t know to this day the team was Queens Park !
I have been to the old Hampden Park too - not to watch Queens Park !
I have a cousin who used to live very near the ground - he used to play for Burnley back in the 80s. He moved back to Scotland and played for a number of lower league Scottish teams.

It's been a good project for him to get his teeth into.

Throwing money at it I believe.

His first team coach there is Owen Coyle Jr.

Coyle's Queen's Park slumped to a shock 1-0 home defeat to Arbroath last night, and with Ayr winning could we see a 3 horse race for the Scottish Championship title.

it was a great season and I think had he stayed we would have kept our place in the top flight that first season. Put belief back into the club and then ripped it up; but thanks to Eddie and Sean we bounced back for a good 10 years and the reality is that belief is still present after Vincent's amazing knock down and rebuild all in one season and not the two or three many of us thought at best.

I don’t think Burnley would have stayed up under Coyle. The results had turned as the Premier got used to our style of play. I believe the primary reason Coyle jumped ship was because he knew he’d been found out and had no answers with the squad he had.

Coyle was great while it lasted, and gave us the taste for better; so I don’t have too many bad feelings other than his dismantling of everything he’d help build here.

I actually think if we’d have got through to the cup final that we wouldn’t have made the play-offs

I disagree. He was set to bring in Holden and Wiltshire, but then took them to Bolton instead. Losing McCann killed us that season and those two would have more than made up for him.

One we could fruitlessly argue forever but I can’t help thinking that we would have got more than 0 points from the Portsmouth, Wolves and Rovers games and that had he not been on the verge of going we would have beaten Bolton. I had the 260 mile drive home to work out why we stopped playing when we’d equalised! The most baffling 34 minutes …..until all was revealed about his departure

We had 20 points from the 20 games under OC and got just 10 under Brian Laws and didnt OC also take loan players or player due to come to us to Bolton. I think we would have made a better fist of it had he stayed but who knows but looking at the Table we needed to get an additional 6 points from somewhere to pip WHU

We lost 1-0 at Wigan to an injury time goal, after Pato hit the bar earlier on.

If we had won that, Wigan would’ve gone down instead of us on goal difference.

FWIW, I think we would’ve stayed up under Coyle.

There were about 700 fans at Queens Park last match. I wonder if they are 10 years ahead of Jamshedpur.

Wigan when he miscued a clearance from memory, and that was our 1st home defeat of the season after we'd won our opening 4 games.

We may have someone scraped enough points to stay up had he stayed, the home performers were still ok. Arsenal and second half against Bolton were excellent.

I think we’d have struggled to better Derby’s record the season after though.

Our home form was decent that season, we won 7 at TM, though our form did badly tail off after Christmas, but what really killed us was only picking up a meagre 4 points on the road, a few more results on the road and we'd have likely been fine.

Impossible to say either way whether we would have stayed up under Coyle, but given he would probably have brought in a few additions in the January window we would have stood a much better chance than under Laws that's for sure.
