As I live in Exeter area I went along with my daughters boyfriend to this game, I’d promised I would as he came up to Bournemouth with me in January. Stood up for the 1st time in years on the big bank ( behind the goal) as it’s known here, ironically I’ve been in there before many years ago when they gave us the home end on the last match of the season , we’d already guaranteed our play off spot( was Plymouth we played and went on to win at Wembley).. thumped us 4-0 as I recall, I’ve been to see us many a time at Exeter when I used to come up from Cornwall, never seen us win there, even came up for last minute waterlogged pitch call off that time as many will remember.Anyway was a good game, we are so much up a few levels on quality but good nonetheless, even saw our player( Bobby Thomas) score for Barnsley and Kevin Mac Donald was playing for Exeter too, home fans sang the entire game regardless of the score, was a good crack, nice to watch a game without the stresses and emotions following the clarets for a change. Needless to say Exeter came out worthy 3-1 winners against a what was supposed to be in form team. Just over 7,000 on with 450 away fans. Jay Stansfield was the game changer, on loan from Fulham UTC

We lost 4-1 at Exeter that day, however I'm sure we rested key players ahead of the play-off's.

7,000 is decent for a midweek game, especially given the fairly small away following, although 450 ain't bad for the long haul to Devon.

Excellent.
My daughter lives down in Ottery St Mary so a group of us are thinking of taking in an Exeter or Torquay game over the next couple of weeks.

That was a game Barnsley needed to win.

Their run in is decent and a game at home to Ipswich near the end is a big one.

After the recent Sheffield Wednesday wobble it it is still two from four imo but think the current top two will sneak the automatic places.

I was at that 4-1 match at Exeter as a teenager with my Dad. Made the 270 mile trip down, got p1ss-wet through in the rain on the open away end, watched us get hammered and then drove back again. And got a load of friendly/not-so-friendly abuse from a bunch of Preston fans at a services on the way back up. Not sure why we thought going would be a good idea but those are the days you remember and smile about years later!

I went to the 4-1 defeat at Exeter in ‘94 too - does that mean I get a Rovers ticket?
