There'll be a lot of hot air billowing around but all the same, we're being linked with lots of names and Big Vinnie has been spotted around Europe watching players.
A few of the recently linked names:
Mads Hermansen
Alfredo Morelos
Sontje Jansen
Bart Verbruggen
Emanuel Aiwu
We're clearly determined to get our business done early and it's looks like we're set to be similarly active in the market again.

Don't think that's correct. See what CP said here:

That is just wrong, and I have seen it repeated a number of times now across a number of platforms- it has been true in the past (Leicester, QPR, Bournemouth etc) but has been different for a few years now - EFL changed their own rules to align with the Premier League so that such sanctions could be passed through, it works in reverse for relegated teams to.
All this was explained on the original embargo thread - even Kieran Maguire has said the embargo could be passed through if the issue is not resolved
All this just shows how much is misunderstood about how the game and the regulations that operate around it have evolved and are still evolving - there are quite a number of changes that are coming down the line for next season that are going to affect the way clubs operate and all this is before we have an independent regulator of football.
Anyway, we have our companies house deadline at the end of April and surely they will want them in for that, so I'm not envisioning any issues for our summer... unless Pace wants to lose VK.

When we are promoted we dont officially become a Premier League team immediately, maybe some time in June?
You would imagine that Vincent Kompany will want to secure his targets as early as possible.

There is a Premier League AGM at the start of June where the relegated clubs return their Premier League share and they are passed to the promoted clubs, not sure of the date but it is early June when we'll officially be a Premier League club and following their financial rules.
However if the EFL embargo is in place then it will more than likely be in place as we move into the Premier League, so it needs resolving ASAP.

I'm all for doing business early, however Morelos is too be avoided even as a free agent, he's hardly ripped up the SPL in the past couple of years, and he's a bad egg that we should steer well clear off in my view, not to mention his dire disciplinary record, we'd be playing at least 2/3 games a season with 10 men.

A lot of this will be speculation and hot air.
But we're clearly intent on doing our business early and that's the key thing here.
Just need to make sure there's nothing to stop us from signing new players....

Can't disagree with that, and it's great that we are now proactive in the market instead of waiting all summer to conduct our business.
Also we now cast our nets much further afield, particularly in the European and South American leagues, where we are more likely to pick up bargains.

My main concern is that this doesn't get resolved and VK starts to worry that he is being kept in the dark on elements. He's going to be so in demand that surely he won't hang about if there's a bad smell around the club.
Obviously hope everything is formalised and there are no issues and he can get on with preparing for the premier league.
But there is that niggling worry that won't go away until this issue is rectified.

Hi indecisive, no need to worry about the financial side of the club. Vincent Kompany obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) while also captaining Man City. Alan Pace studied for his MBA in Barcelona, which is where he also says he fell in love with the beautiful game of football. There's no way Vincent Kompany is "in the dark" about any of the club's finances. Everything will be sorted with EFL soon.

I'm not doubting his credentials, but I've seen the "he's got a MBA" line trotted out quite a bit as a kind of all encompassing badge to say 'there's nothing this man doesn't know about business'.
I've got a MBA and I couldn't tell you the first thing about the financial minutiae that must be involved with an organisation of this size.
VK is clearly a clever bloke, I don't think anyone could dispute that, but a MBA alone does not a financial football master make!

I guess you haven't been a top professional footballer and are now working as the manager of a football club? That's where I believe Vincent Kompany's MBA comes into the equation. I'd imagine Vincent Kompany will have access to the most important "financial minutiae:" player wages and transfer fees - the stuff that we don't get the full information on. His MBA gives him the ability to understand the stuff that he knows and is involved in.

I wouldn't take much notice of any MA/MSc/MBA achieved in the last 15/20 years. Having taught on a degree, I know exactly what has happened to graduate/postgraduate courses.

No involvement, just understanding. That's all the manager needs. Yes, busy preparing the squad for this evening's game and then starting again for the one on Monday evening.

Can guarantee you that Vincent knows for a fact whether the embargo will be lifted before the end of April as was suggested and is fully aware of the financial situation behind the clubs. On his arrival at the club he was asked about the financial situation and made clear that he had been provided full clarity over the clubs financial situation before he took on the job this is to be aided by the fact that in his first press conference he made clear that he took the job because the board and chairman had been so open and clear with him.
I must ask the question. Why cant people just trust in the ownership with their statement that the embargo will be gone by April? Why do people feel the need to bring it up at every oppurtunity regarding transfers because for the minute it is completely irrelevant and wont become relevant until such a time where we actually get to an open transfer window and still have it in place which as already has been said will most likely not happen.

I have no doubt the embargo will be lifted.
I ain’t got a clue why you have responded like this to my post.
Personally I just think people are wrong to associate VK’s business qualifications with a detailed knowledge of our clubs finances….especially the way the companies have been set up, the subsidiaries structure and the source of wealth / background of the owners etc.
VK is a very educated man so I think he understands as much as he believes he needs to understand about our finances to manage and develop the football team.

Hi Big Vinny K, which details do you think Vincent Kompany doesn't know about? The most important details for the club are player wages and transfer fees, both incoming and outgoing. Do you think Vincent Kompany isn't all over these figures? Why would he not know what he has a big, big, part in committing the club to?
As for the club structure and Alan Pace's background and source of wealth, what is so difficult for Vincent Kompany to understand if he's had the chance to sit down with Alan Pace and have it all explained to him? Don't forget Vincent Kompany was brought up in Belgium, he's mixed with people from multiple nations and he's lived and worked in the UK for many years. His experience will have taught him that international corporate structures involve a lot more considerations than just filing accounts with Companies House and paying taxes to HMRC.
Of course, re the embargo. It's a very easy thing for Vincent Kompany to speak with Alan Pace or one of the other directors and understand the timetable for completing the audit and submitting whatever information the EFL require. If, as we understand, Vincent Kompany is already scouting for incoming transfers when the transfer window is opened, don't you think he'd have checked on the club's situation before spending his time travelling to other countries to watch player x or y in a game?

This Georgian football account / reporter has suggested we are still keen on Georges Mikautadze (remember him last summer) for the new season.
Fab Romano has liked the tweet.

Sign him up, when I checked him out last summer after the links to us, I wanted us to get him over the line. Looks as if we will have to pay a lot more for him now, however he does look a real player.
Plays a lot from deep, which we know VK likes from his striker , but also looks as if he would suit the role Tella plays for us currently.
Get him in

Was gutted in the summer when we didn’t get Mikautadze over the line. Thought he’d dropped off actually, but stats seem to have improved since I last looked.
Just watched his most recent video and reminded myself why I wanted him:
