Not an easy match on Saturday with a trip to an in form Villa who are scoring for fun recently, 8 games without a win at present, you have to fear for Steve Cooper's future if that becomes 9.

SC has almost been a victim of his own success in a way, hauling Forest off the foot of the Championship to then win the play-off's, and yes Forest have splashed the cash, but how many of those signings were Cooper's.

One thing is certain if Cooper does get pushed he won't be out of work for long.

Villa (a) - Villa going well under Emery, and they'll want to win the derby.
Utd (H) - Who knows which Utd will turn up, however you sense Manure have got to catch form again soon.
Liverpool (a) - Liverpool's form on the road isn't great, however it's never an easy task going to Anfield.
Brighton (H) - Brighton flying under de Zerbi, and every chance they can claim a European place.
Brentford (a) - Similar to Brighton the Bees are buzzing this term. and they will equally sense a European place is within their grasp.

The main reason Forest are just above the drop zone is their home form, however I wouldn't be confident of them getting much out of Brighton or Man U, and given their wretched away record it's difficult to make a case for many points at 3 tough venues.

He turned forest from relegation candidates to promotion winners in less than a season while playing good football. He has had players bought for him that wasn’t necessarily his players and kept them above water for now. If you put any manager into a club with a turnover of playing staff as huge as this, they will always struggle especially if there are players there that he didn’t want. I can’t imagine cooper wanting 30 plus players after a promotion campaign. And before you point to Kompany, that’s a completely different situation he almost had a clean slate and an input on signings

Reckon Forest are going down, Cooper still in charge or not. Saints to accompany them.

As for the final relegation place, i think its gonna be between Leicester, Bournemouth and Everton, with Leicester looking the most likely.

Think West Ham and (unfortunately) Leeds will have enough to stay up.

The “Sleep walker” gives me nightmares after his interviews.

Really poor recruitment, far too many average players and too many players in general. I doubt those were Cooper signings.

I watched the Leeds game. Forest looked like they couldn't be arsed. Cooper will be gone by Monday if they don't pick something up at Villa on Saturday.

The one thing that is unacceptable in football is players not putting the effort in, especially in a crucial relegation clash.

There's probably over 100,000 of them, on what basis do you think this is logical. Loads of clubs will think we're the worst fans in the country based on news events. Is that any more true?

Cooper survives for now, however Nottingham Forest have sacked sporting director Filippo Giraldi after only six months.

For once it's not the manger who pays the price, well at least not yet.

I don't understand the playing squad size.
Forest have about 42 players in their squad. Something like 35 players have made appearances this season yet I thought clubs were only allowed a pool of 25 players .
How does that work ?

They give another list of 25 after the Jan window I think. They will have altered it with the new signings in and any long term injured players will have been swapped out.

Funnily, last August all the Notts Forest fans were banging on about being back in Europe/top 6 by the end of the season. Despite my words of caution along the lines of 'all you need is 36 points in your first season'.

Was in the local miners' welfare last night and the topic of discussion was the realistic chance of relegation, fuelled by my faux 'concern'.
Anyway, they still got into the conversation that they won the European Cup twice, Cloughie would never have allowed this to happen and call Burnley 'Burnsleh'.

I live very near to Holland’s and some of the nonsense spouted about winning the Champions League was fairly commonplace. The same people wanted Cooper sacked after about two months. After the miracle he performed last season albeit with a ton of luck Cooper is the best man they’ve got if they give him the means to build his own squad.
