What a stat

In our last three championship seasons. We have been promoted every time.
We’ve also lost just 12 games in that time (obviously a few to go yet). To put that in context. We lost 12 games the season we went up under coyle!
It’s included the 23 undefeated. 16 earlier this season. And currently on 19 and counting.
What an era to be a claret!

According to the Boro match programme Burnley have lost only seven away games in the last three championship seasons. They were quick to point out two of those defeats were at Boro which underlines the magnitude of last nights win.

A nice stat maybe but rather then re-write history when did a team last do this in 'the second tier - i.e. Division 2?

Here's another stat, probably already mentioned but it won't
do any harm to repeat it.
We sacked Dyche on Good Friday last year.
We won promotion on Good Friday this year.

Middlesbrough under Jack Charlton, in about 1974, clinched promotion with 7 games to go. (42 game season, 2 points for a win.)
Burnley in 1973 must have been pretty early as well? [Edit - just checked on the wnderful site UpTheClarets - it was 4 games to spare.]

And I’m sure we’ve been promoted over Easter many times too?

It’s eight
2013/14
Brighton
Leicester
Middlesbrough
2015/16
Ipswich
Middlesbrough
Hull
2022/23
Watford
Sheffield United

Didn’t we draw 1-1 at Leicester in 2013/14?

I think it was Huddersfield, not Leicester, who beat us in 2013/14. Leicester beat us at home.

Indeed. Brighton 2-0, Huddersfield 2-1, and Boro 1-0.

So what’s that. Four at home in 3 seasons at this level?

Wasn't the Huddersfield match the one with the really dodgy penalty decisions.
They got one that was outside the box, and we had a blatant one denied?

Incredible that and Forest presently hold the record with 36, so if we come through the QPR and Cardiff games intact we can equal them.
A few more to savour.
2 defeats in 63 Championship games.
2 long unbeaten runs this season, 16 followed by 20 and counting.
After that victory last night we've now taken points from every other Championship side this season.
21 unbeaten at home this season, 24 if you include all comps with power to add.

The biggest winning margin in the current Championship years is Reading in ‘05-‘06. They topped on 106 with SheffU runners up on 90. 16 points clear. There’s a target to see out the season and as things stand we can still top their 106 but would have to win every game to do that.

I've no idea, I just referenced soccerway.

Reading when they got 106 points, from memory they won the title on game 41, could be wrong about that stat though.
