Maybe top didn't offer marsch the reassurances he wanted about next season, anybody who takes the job & if Leicester stop up deserves the season after, a fair crack of the whip none of this interim BS where there's nobody else & you might be in contention pending, cast iron guarantees you do the business the job is yours.

Like you I don't know the finer details, but anybody who keeps Leicester up from here certainly deserves a shot next season I agree.

I know it's only a coincidence, but it doesn't help when one of your better players states with 18 months to go on a contract that they won't be renewing. I think it affects the dressing room even though the player concerned might continue with excellent performances. I'm thinking Tarkowski and Tielemans.

Apart from Ndidi and Maddison the rest have all underperformed for quite some time

Getting rid of Brendan Rodgers, I think he would have kept them up. Same with Leeds letting Marsch go. I can only applaud WHU for holding their nerve with Moyes.

I think there's probably something psychological involving a long term hangover from winning the league too. Re: 'making it' or being successful: the journey there can be more enjoyable than being there. If you can't keep it up where do you go...

Dean Smith seemingly poised to take over, I'm not convinced he'll be the answer, but in Leicester's predicament they probably can't be fussy.

Getting rid of Brendan Rodgers, I think he would have kept them up. Same with Leeds letting Marsch go. I can only applaud WHU for holding their nerve with Moyes.

It does seem daft fair enough if you are replacing better for better, but you are downgrading managers & actually paying compensation for the move. No sympathy for either if they are relegated for not showing enough patience.

I'm not at all convinced Rodgers would have kept them up, sure he'd done a brilliant job for the past few seasons, but something drastic had to change as Leicester were sleepwalking to relegation with him at the helm.

It could even be argued they should have acted sooner if they wanted a change at the top, leaving it this late leaves any new manager with very little time to apply his own style on their squad.

Were I do agree Rodgers has been let down is by Leicester's senior pro's not stepping up to the mark when he needed them, but of course it's always the manager who carries the can when players don't perform well enough.

The reason many of these struggling PL clubs panic is they simply can ill afford to take the financial hit relegation would bring.

I agree, but I think they would have had a better chance with rodgers had benitez or even fat Sam been arriving instead of Smith, you would have had more of a case for the sacking, if they do get relegated they'll surely look back with regard to not acting sooner & the replacement appointed if Smith is confirmed, you never know he might be a dark horse & surprise everybody it's happened before & do a blinding job.

If Smith is the best that Leicester can find you would think that WHU would think twice before potting Moyes at this stage as they would have to appoint someone that Leicester thought wasn't as good as Smith

The decision making at the top is terrible, and lazy half arsed. It's obvious he doesn't have the passion his dad had.
