Big goal for Pool before half time, now we'll see what Arsenal are made of.

Well thank you so much for the invite Royboy and I'll definitely take you up on that in the near future, but I'm still recovering from a very boozy day and night in Middlesbrough and didn't get back until well into yesterday after staying over. Then I remembered I've got to do it all again tomorrow!!!Royboyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 5:08 pmApologies.....Thought I was debating this with Dark Cloud, who knows, if he wants to continue the debate from next door but one, there's always a bottle of whiskey available to stimulate the conversation.
Re: Today's Football
Odds on a red card in this game. Ref is a bit of a homer

Re: Today's Football
Hilarious that players think it’s fine to constantly get up in the faces of officials then complain like hell when a lineman raises an arm to shoo them away.
Lino shouldn’t have done it, but it was hardly a full blown swing.

Lino
I'm sure most of us would like to be able to give that gobshite Robertson a cheeky elbow, but he'll surely be in bother after that

Re: Today's Football
It is a bit rich Robertson going round all the players about the elbow given the abuse they give out to officials all the time. Yep it’s wrong and he should be punished but why act the bloody victim over it. It’s about time the officials fought back against gobshites like Robertson. Thump Fernandez next.

Re: Today's Football
Salah's explosive quality moments are very much on instinct with little thinking time. When in a situation to think such as penalties or one on ones he is far from world class.

Just been sent this by my m8 who is a Leeds fan (who has s sense of humour unlike s lot of them )Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 3:53 pmIcing on the cake of a brilliant season would be a Leeds relegation.
The cherries on it would be our friends down the road missing out on the play offs.

Premier League footballers should never be missing the target from a penalty.

Re: Today's Football
Even when he was scoring 30 goals a season, he was missing sitters. Like most of the squad, he just isn't the player he was.
Klopps problem is he is too loyal to players who have served him in the past. To be a top manager you have to be ruthless, and know when it is time to move a man on. He had the same issue at Dortmund, built a great team, but didn't have the balls to keep it great.

Re: Today's Football
Why on earth did Arteta change it to go 3 at the back?
They’ve been far too deep with no pressure on the ball in midfield

Re: Today's Football
Mind boggling decision for Arteta to take his captain and absolute architect off in Martin Odegaard to go to a back 5 with what 20 minutes to go?
Like a tactic from 2005 that. Could cost him the title

He was second, the ref was the MOTM, didn't fall for all the cheating, wasn't having players surround him, booked players for time wasting and was calm throughout - probably the best ref performance I've seen all season

A terrible tactical change that meant they ought to have lost the game in the end.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 6:32 pmMind boggling decision for Arteta to take his captain and absolute architect off in Martin Odegaard to go to a back 5 with what 20 minutes to go?

Good for Royboy....Couldn't happen to a more deserving bloke....Hope he keeps Palace up.
Re: Today's Football
Except for giving a stupid penalty. How do refs decide, when two players each put a hand across each others' chest, who is committing the foul? It's like watching two men shake hands and trying to decide which one shook hands first. (And that's before we mention that touching a man who chooses to go down isn't actually a foul.)Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 6:38 pmHe was second, the ref was the MOTM, didn't fall for all the cheating, wasn't having players surround him, booked players for time wasting and was calm throughout - probably the best ref performance I've seen all season
