Calculations to be champions

Would I be right, that if we win the next 2 and Sheffield lose the next 2,then we are being crowned champions? When will they present the trophy? Would love us to beat bastards and ensure that they miss the playoffs. :D :D :D :D

Think we just have to win the next 2? And we'll get the trophy on the last home game against Cardiff.

Win today and the gap is 14 points with 18 left

So we could win the title next week at Reading if we win and Sheff Utd don't win on that weekend.

Draw today and we can't win the title at Reading, but we could win the title away at Rotherham if Sheff Utd drop points from either of their next two games. If we both match each other, then it would be QPR at home where we can win the title.

Lose today and the gap is down to 8 points with 6 games to play. Our most likely game where we could win the title is Rovers away.
Sheff Utd would still have to win three and us lose another 3 for them to overtake us.

If it goes beyond the Rovers game then it means we've had a major wobble, which is highly unlikely.

Today however is a potential "After the Lord Mayor's show" which we have done a few times over the years.

I've got a feeling that won't happen tonight as we've got a point to prove against them, and VK's determination for silverware will have us right on it.

I'd agree with you if we were playing Coventry for example maybe

Interesting, would you take a defeat today knowing we have a potential chance to win the title at Ewood or would you rather we won the title as soon as possible and just enjoy the day at Ewood as champions already and smash them to derail their play off hopes?

Lol I was just actually thinking that after I'd looked at the permutations. But no I'd rather smash Sheffield, proving we are the best team, and go the season unbeaten at home.

Then go to Ewood as champions and destroy them playing free flowing football :)

If you are a Burnley fan surely you want to win every single game?

Its got to be win today get the title at Reading ... just smash em at Deadwood ... end the season on 100+ points, and then have a party at the Turf next Bank Holiday Monday as we are presented the Trophy 😁

Get it done as soon as possible.

It doesn’t happen often, but it’s quite nice going into games already promoted/champions. I went to Reading last time around and really enjoyed the drama Reading were going through from the smug position of everything having already been taken care of.

Essentially win tonight that’s it. That’s all we really needed to know ;-)

It would be nice to win it at ewood. But there will only be a handful of fans there and potential for bother as thousands would turn up to see it without tickets.

It would be nicer to win it before then and turn up as champions for a guard of honour. And Vinny like any sane Burnley fan will want to win every game anyway.

But it would be bloody lovely to win it there and lift the trophy. So we can’t lose really can we 😂

United at home is the best game we could have hoped for after Friday - there's no way we relax or lose focus

A win tonight would effectively settle the title race

Also assume Luton are going to win this afternoon so there will be no complacency from United either

As good as it would be to seal it there I want to have it done before then.

It will either mean they do a guard of honour for us which will send their fans into a melt down or their fans won’t want to attend so will be full of empty home seats which would look great

This .... although I can't see the " honour guard " thing happening !!

Ideal scenario is that their nearest and fiercest historical rivals, already Champions, put the final nail in the coffin of their play-off hopes in front of a half empty Ewood Park ... :D

I can’t see it happening either, which will further show the rest of the football world how petty they are being around this game

Certainly never accept defeat.

Even if we win the title beforehand I hope we save the trophy presentation until Cardiff, take a replica to Ewood and have our players doing a lap of honour with it before the game, at half time and again afterwards :P .

How much would it cost the club to send every fan with a ticket for Ewood an inflatable trophy they can smuggle in to Ewood and blow up inside the ground? 😂

When we win today 14 points in front of Blades with 18 to play for
Most likely win League at Rotherham or Queens Park Strangers at latest

Hey it’d be good if he could present us the trophy.

He ought to cancel any official engagements he might have booked and prioritize his football team.

Win tonight would put us on the verge of the title certainly. and it would also give Vinny a nice birthday present don't forget.

Plus we owe this mob for Bonfire Night and all the gloating they did that day.

Magic number is 5 ( combination of us facing points and Sheff U dropping points) So 1 more win for us and a loss or draw for them and we are CHAMPIONS

We will know going into our game on Saturday if we can be champions or not as Sheff Utd have an early kick-off. We will know what we’re playing for

Realistically one more point will suffice. With a banned first choice keeper, the distraction of the cup and games against teams more desperate for the points that they are, Sheffield will not get better than ninety points
