The best team in the league by a mile are the champions by a mile. Sheffield Utd are an effective championship side and its clear why they're near the top but they're nowhere near us. Their physical mixed football will get them out of this division but they're playing at their limit really.

Yes, the sending off was favourable to us but this was similar to Middlesbrough; whilst a different challenge, we controlled things throughout. Good to play one of the better team straight after promotion as it there's less complacency. We looked a bit leggy at the start which is understandable but soon realised we were in a game and stepped things up.

Muric 8 zero shots to test him but one top drawer tackle which prevented a near certain goal

Roberts 8 if there's anyone enjoying their football more than Connor Roberts right now, I'd like to see his grin

Harwood-Bellis 7 fine when he was on, can see he's finding his way back, although he should have buried that header

Beyer 8 return of the marauding runs and got a decent strike away, though it was a bit central to worry the keeper

Maatsen 7 targeted in the air again and was fine with it again. Superb ball through to JBG in the second half.

Cork 7 dealt with McBurnie cleverly at goal kicks and added the required steel to the midfield. Disappointingly hooked but correct tactically

Cullen 8 metronome

Brownhill 7 carbon copy injury from Blackpool but obvs not as bad. Shame as he'd had a cracking game up to then.

Tella 9 see Roberts. His tenacity has been the vital factor in the key incidents of the game.

Foster 6 ok, playing in a seemingly odd role for him

Barnes 6 so many things just didn't quite work for him tonight

Taylor 7 fit in perfectly at the back

Benson 7 not what Baldock wanted to see at the start of the 2nd half

Gudmundsson 8 one lovely strike and one very well controlled finish, great to see him bag a couple, shame his 3rd effort lacked real power

Played the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the division in the space of 4 days and dispatched both with aplomb. The title hasn't been in doubt for some time but it really isn't now. Decent birthday present for the bossman.

Tella 9* - constant menace, yes it was their f*** up for the red but it’s his pressing and ball winning that won it
Foster 6 - some nice movement, pressing and bits of skill
Barnes 5 - been great lately but thought he gave the ball away way too often and wasn’t aware of the space he was in

JBG 8 - said at HT we needed his craft and delighted he got two goals, masterstroke by Vinny getting him into that left sided midfield role
Benson 7 - committed defenders and changed the feel of the game

Total control. Obviously the red changed the game but it was a red and that’s that. What it meant was first half we didn’t have the right shape or personnel on the pitch to break them down but that changed at HT.

Tellas pressing and work rate was exceptional (even by the standards he's set this season) and the half time substitutions essentially changed it from Sheff Utd hanging on to Sheff United being very lucky not to get absolutely thumped

This. We had a few gears to get through last night if needed. No Zaroury, Benson only played forty-five minutes.

Generally a good performance, although playing against 10 men obviously helped. Before then it was really scrappy and SU were looking dangerous. We gave the ball away far too much, and it was mainly the 2 most experienced players who were culpable - Barnes and Cork. Maatsen was also quite wasteful at times, but looked really useful when he came in on his right around the half way line, starting quite a few attacks from there

I'd have liked to see Foster stay on. I thought he looked quite dangerous...

Muric 7 - nothing to do except make one exceptional tackle to save Beyer's blushes.
Roberts 8 - excellent, but too often playing wing man first half when we needed a genuine one out there.

You only have to be better than the team you're playing each week to win the division and once again last night we were. They aren't a bad side by any means and McBurnie and Ndayie are extremely good, but we were better all over the pitch, including adjusting our tactics at half time to give us genuine width with players who could exploit it. Blades fans may bemoan the sending off and say it created the outcome of the game, but that incident alone showed how much better we were as it was Tella's pace and skill which made something out of nothing.
