If all goes well on Saturday, waking up on Sunday morning, knowing what just happened, will be like smelling petrichor

Bird poo seems to be very much in demand this year; it has classic potential.

It would appear that the original plan for VK and the Board this season was to aim for the Play Offs and hope for the best. Promotion wasn’t an all or nothing expectation.
As the season has developed, though, those plans have been defenestrated.

Rovers is as obscure a word as you are likely to find in Burnley as most Burnley fans (and Ashley Barnes) will use alternative nomenclature.

Despite criticisms from down the M65, Burnley have achieved their success of the past decade or so by good management, unlike some, who since the early 90's, have relied on eleemosynary payments from either Jack Walker, the Walker Trust or the Venkys ....

Vincent Kompany's Burnley has exhibited an unparalleled feat of perspicacity and sagacity in their campaign, deftly navigating the labyrinthine landscape of English football with consummate erudition. Employing a superlative amalgamation of their incisive tactics, unwavering tenacity, and uncanny clairvoyance, they have exuded a quintessential exemplification of footballing prowess.

Their mettlesome and intrepid approach on the pitch, coupled with their metagalactic aptitude for strategic acumen, has rendered their adversaries flummoxed and discombobulated. With a plethora of players endowed with immeasurable dexterity and effulgent skills, Burnley has ensorcelled their opponents and left them confounded with their enigmatic maneuvers.

Their success can be ascribed to their impregnable defense, orchestrated with panache by their astute backline, whose obdurate resilience and imperious fortitude have proven impervious to opposition onslaughts. Their midfield maestros, with their virtuosic flair and astute vision, have orchestrated the game with balletic precision, while their attacking triumvirate, with their unequivocal effervescence, have been an inexorable force of nature.

In addition, their coach's acerbic acuity and tactical acumen have been pivotal in harnessing the equipoise and coalescing the team's prodigious talent into a symphony of seamless synergy. The ardor and esprit de corps exhibited by the players have been the fulcrum of their success, igniting a palpable sense of camaraderie and indomitable spirit that has propelled them to the summit of the league.

In a league replete with formidable opponents, Burnley's meteoric ascent to the pinnacle is a testament to their ineffable grit, indomitable resolve, and unassailable mettle. Their journey to glory has been an opus of virtuosity, an apotheosis of footballing excellence, and a saga of triumphant conquests that shall reverberate through the annals of footballing lore for eons to come.

Early on my career I was advised - and took it - with regard to writing contractual letters to 'include one word that the recipient needs to look up in the dictionary; but only the one, any more than that and you'll just appear to be a smartarse.
