Any ideas what I should put my annual tenner on ?
The only horse race of the year me & Mrs Aclaret like to have a flutter on.
We have a dog, not a big one......there's one called The Big Dog, any chance ?

The fences being lowered has attracted classier horses to the race.
And the classy horse in the race is Delta Work.

Just shop around for the best prices and offers, most of all enjoy it.

As an aside, it's now 50 years since arguably the greatest Grand National race of them all, when Red Rum won the first of his three: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6zHe-BTTN8

One of these days I'm going to watch this and Crisp will finally manage to hold on.

The first ever Grand National in 1839 was won by a horse called Lottery, ridden by Jem Mason.

I’m there tomorrow, been a few times now.

There are better places to protest than one containing 60,000 ****** up scousers.

Couldn’t think of a worse place to be…. Actually, 6 would be 6 too many.

Enjoy.

I said this to a friend when the story of likely disruption emerged ...

" I hope for their sakes that the Police find them first before a few thousand Liverpudlian Ladies get to them, after having had a few " bevvies ", armed with stilettoes and seeking revenge for ruining their day out ! "

Noble Yeats is a great horse who just keeps on going. However, he has over a stone more weight than last year. Think he is more likely to place than win tbh.

Big Dog to win 14/1 £1
Longhouse Poet ew 22/1 £4
Delta Works ew 9/1. £4

Delta Work ( backed weeks ago when the weights came out because he's carrying nearly a half a stone less in racing weight than when placed last year and is a better horse this season )

Longhouse Poet
Coko Beach

Corach Rambler, Velvet Elvis and Le Milos are the selections doomed by my patronage at the Turf Accountants !

According to tipsters, " It's now or never " for Velvet Elvis, who's apparently NOT " One for the money ... " and his chances should be viewed with a " Suspicious Mind ", just three of the puns I've read ..

I toyed with that on the Nap League then changed my mind.

A 2nd Grand National win for Lucinda Russell following One For Arthur's triumph in 2017.

It was a tough watch with the loose horses. One refused to jump a fence and pulled up, started going sideways and got clattered by a horse coming up behind.

I can't say I particularly enjoyed watching this one.

I guess it shows how good the jockeys are at getting their horses round Quicken, with all the obstacles put in their way.
