No loans if we can help it, he's in Manchester United's 1st team Squad and has scored twice in a World Cup Quarter Final ... two years left on his contract ( June 25 ) so if he's not wanted here, then we need to get him gone, with a sizable fee ....

Wout IN!
Let's face it.
Barnes and Jay are probably both gone
We'll be a division higher and again without a frontman / No. 10
He is still our player NOW... and he can play.
He plays almost a support role at Man U for the other players - but given his record when we signed him, he can score goals.
He works hard.
It's Just how much he want's to play for us...? Last year he had a get out clause - can anyone really blame him for looking after his own future?
(But he could also have handled things better regards his way of moving on - especially considering as we needed commitment from players to fight out a rerurn - he bolted asap)
Lot's of things have changed since, ...
Would he want to put in the work for us now under the new setup and in the Top Flight? Probably.
Would he be accepted? - 1 if VK says so - 2 If he gets or makes GOALS.
If he want's it, he could do very well in our squad.

I expect he will be sold if an offer equall to our outlay or more comes in.
Yet right now can you find anyone for the same money?
Attitude, humility and respect within the squad might be a deciding factor. But if as a player you can't be exicted by being a player in this squad....
Give UP - Get your Agent looking for a contract in Saudi....

Fine with his reasons for leaving, some fans need to direct their anger toward Van Gaal who effectively told him he had to move.
I wouldn't have him back though as he's clearly shown he's not PL standard. Get him sold back to the Turkish pub league where he can score more Brereton Diaz-esque scuffed finishes and deflections.

He's scored two goals in 31 EPL appearances. let's face it if he can't score goals for Man Utd with their supporting players he is not going to get a bucket full for Burnley. He is 31 in August with two years left on his contract, and he didn't want to play for us last season. I don't buy all this World Cup selection stuff, Zaroury got into the Morocco squad playing for us.
We will be fortunate now to get any of the transfer money back and we might as well cut our losses on wages and get shut a.s.a.p.

Agree, it we’re gonna have a forward that doesn’t score many goals, I’d rather it be someone who doesn’t carry round such a massive ego.

Think a few people need to realise what they are saying. This guy is a proven goal scorer at the highest level. He didn’t work because a player of his ability would always struggle in a team managed by Dyche. We are going to need a good striker in the PL and we have one for free. All the bitterness in the world shown towards him on here isn’t gonna make him a bad player. I think, and so do others, he would be a dream fit in this team. Get over your selves and welcome him back.

Wout has been playing regularly for one of the top premier league sides so unless we get an offer upwards of 15 million then Kompany is obviously going to see how he can utilise him.
He doesn't score many goals but that has not prevented him being picked week in week out for Man United.
His attribute is being an excellent link up player providing the assists for Rashford and United midfield players to run onto and Kompany will be looking to see if he can do a similar job with Tella and our midfielders.
You don't get to play at the top of the Premier league if you are crap.

ManU friends of mine all think that he makes a valuable contribution to the side - as does the manager, who is clearly no fool. He could play a useful role as a fulcrum and bring faster players onto the ball.
He doesn’t look like an out and out goalscorer, but that would not necessarily be his role.

While I think he’d be decent enough in this team, I’m not sure it ‘works’… him waltzing back into this new group. I would snap someone’s hands off for 5-10m to be honest. I’m not in the Weggy hater camp on here and think he’s done a good job at United, so it feels weird to say I wouldn’t want him back, just that I’d rather Kompany brings in characters that he wants and I’m not sure Weggy is.

He joined on a 3 and a half year deal which was touted as a 12million deal. He's getting towards half way on that deal so as an asset his value to the club is probably closer to half of that, presumably we still have money to pay to Wolfburg but if we lend him out for a season again we'll find ourselves with a player who's 6 months away from being able to sign a pre-contract deal and walk away for nothing. We may have been looking to get our money back last summer but if we get 6m for him I'd think that's surely close to break-even, if we get the 8.8m (that was supposedly the price of a permanent option agreed with Besiktas for this summer) then I reckon Alan Pace would consider that as a high five moment.

Let's see what happens but I haven't see a player ever create as much ill feelings towards from large parts of the fan base.
We know there is always a player that creates difference of opinion with their efforts/skill/value on the field but for me the issues most people have with him has been what he has done off the field and how he has created a persona of being bigger than the club.
I don't think all of the issues lay at the door of Wout either - regardless though I don't think he has shown enough since leaving us that we are going to get back a player who will be anything better than what we experienced when he was here last time.
For me - probably best he finds a new club.

The only answer I can think of bud is United have ruined numerous good players over the years. In all honesty I don’t know but his record prior to us suggests there is a prolific goal scorer there. 1 goal every 2 games in Holland and (more importantly) Germany says he is a proven scorer, plus a game changer in the World Cup.
The other thing is all the Barnes lovers on here are saying how great he’s been this season with his 4 goals (2 in one game). I’m damn sure Weghorst would have scored far more in this team. The truth is people don’t like the way he left and I can get with that but some saying he’s rubbish and in one instance a ‘donkey’ is so far wide of the mark it’s unreal.

In the main, his movement in attacking positions for Man U has been woeful, which has contributed to his lack of goals albeit he has done very well at chasing down defences in possession.
Nevertheless, when he has found himself in goal scoring positions, he has been massively short of the standard required. The Leeds game in particular saw him squander 3-4 of the chances similar to the one on one he missed for us v Liverpool.
I'd urge anyone who thinks he has what it takes to look at his goals for Besiktas and the frankly comical defending which contributed to them. One thing is for certain that he has not and will not find that standard of defending in the PL.
Another key element is the stat around goals scored when he is on the pitch vs when he's not and (more tellingly) the goals Martial has scored since his reinstatement to the starting XI from the injury which effectively forced Ten Hag to play Wout in the first place.
He scored lots of goals in Germany and the Turkish pub league. He can no doubt go back to the latter and do it again. For his fans, if you love someone - set them free

Isn't Barnes playing a similar role in linking play? Nobody is moaning about how many goals Barnes has scored but are saying how well he is playing. If Barnes goes he would take his place and is better technically. I understand his reasons for going but I didn't like the way he went about it. I think the ego side is because he wants to be a winner and expects the same from everyone, but It is whether he would fit in with the others in the squad.

All in all really bad signing we made there best to sell for whatever we can get guys ego is massive. Scored 4 goals in two seasons in prem not going to keep us up that!
I would rather keep Barnes for one season than someone who thinks their too good to play for us.

I would rather see Barnes as well with the way he is playing. He is like a different player now he is staying on his feet and trying to play.

I don’t think it’s WW fault, the brain see’s the ball coming and wants WW to jump/kick/run towards it, but by the time the message has been received by the feet, the balls long gone.

I would be amazed if he plays another game for us. From what I have seen, he simply isn't suited to the pace and tempo of the Premier League. All very well being tidy with the ball, and playing a few lay offs etc but he's behind play every time United counter and often not in the right place to get a shot away because he isn't sharp enough. If we can even get half our money back I'd be happy. Reminds me slightly of Hennings - another who struggled to get to grips with the speed of the English game yet scored a lot of goals in Germany.

Move Wout on in the summer and trust Vinny to sign someone better suited to the PL.
He's flopped at Utd, and now Martial is fit again he's found himself on the bench.
Write him off as a bad signing all round and recoup what we can for him, plus we'll be getting another hefty salary off our wage bill.
