Bad goal/good finish depending on your POV, but this probably makes it less enjoyable for Southampton fans for the rest of the game!

What is Ramsdale thinking.

Could be a real coupon buster.

Arsenal really blowing up in the title race, but what a lifeline this might be for Saints.

Yes, we need to batter them tomorrow. No holding back. Another Huddersfield at home display required.

These last two nights have showed how harder it will be to play out from the back in the top league.

The speed of pressing can be frightening.

agree, it's why we will need better in midfield - miles faster and more accurate in the PL but VK knows the drill

They play Bournemouth Thursday

The way the medical team was around him, including the one from Arsenal, made it look like it was for concussion which is why even the commentators thought it was a con sub

Anyway as it is, it appears they wouldnt miss him even if it was

If Saints see this through it won't half shake up the relegation fight.

Just goes to show there is no easy games in the PL.

Arsenal have a great recent history of being bottle jobs.

Copy and paste jon from the S*n -

1) Arsenal 1 Birmingham 2 (2011)

Believe it or not, Arsene Wenger has never won the League Cup. We used to think that was because he just couldn’t be bothered with it, but this was the game that showed his team aren’t good enough. Wojciech Szczesny dropped the ball onto Obafemi Martins’ foot in the last minute to give soon-to-be-relegated Birmingham the trophy. If that wasn’t hard enough to take, one Birmingham player hilariously slapped Laurent Koscielny on the head while celebrating.

2) Bolton 2 Arsenal 2 (2003)

Back when people took Arsenal’s title ambitions seriously, the Gooners were ahead of Man United on goal difference with four pretty straightforward games remaining. The first was a trip to relegation battlers Bolton. Sylvain Wiltord and Robert Pires put Arsenal two goals up before Youri Djorkaeff and a Martin Keown own goal levelled the match for Sam Allardyce’s Bolton, who would be Wenger’s bogey team for years to come.

3) Bolton 2 Arsenal 1 (2011)

It was one of those seasons where people suggested Arsenal could in the title but nobody actually believed it. Once again they faced a must-win trip to the Reebok and once again they didn’t win. Tamir Cohen, who isn’t even a household name in Israel, got a last minute winner for Bolton. We reckon nobody was happier than Arsene Wenger to see the Trotters relegated the following season.

4) Arsenal 1 Monaco 3 (2015)

This game dispelled any myth that Arsenal were only crap in the Champions League because they kept getting unlucky draws. Monaco provided them the perfect opportunity to reach the Quarter Final for the first time since 2010, but the Dimitar Berbatov-inspired French principality cruised to a 3-1 win. The inevitable 2-0 Arsenal victory and exit on away goals followed in the second leg.

5) Arsenal 1 Man United 3 (2009)

We should have seen this one coming when Arsenal let John O’Shea give United a 1-0 win in the first leg of the Champions League Semi Final at Old Trafford. During the return match at the Emirates, a scintillating display of counter-attacking football saw United run out 4-1 aggregate winners and proved not only that Fergie’s side were miles better than Arsenal, but also far more entertaining.

6) Chelsea 6 Arsenal 0 (2014)

Another year, another title challenge turned into a struggle for 4th place. Arsenal went into this game four points behind leaders Chelsea with a game in hand. But goals from Samuel Eto’o and Andre Schurrle saw Jose Mourinho’s side stroll into a 2-0 lead before Kieran Gibbs was sent off for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s handball on the goal line. A penalty from Eden Hazard, two goals from Oscar and one from Mohamed Salah gave Arsene Wenger the worst 1,000th game possible.

7) Newcastle 4 Arsenal 4 (2011)

Yup, another one from 2011, which must go down as an embarrassing year even by Arsenal standards. They raced into a 4-0 half time lead before Abou Diaby was sent off for grabbing Joey Barton by the neck. (Seriously, imagine being sent off when your team is 4-0 up!) A Cheikh Tiote equaliser saw Newcastle complete arguably the greatest comeback in Premier League history, and to give you some idea of how bad Arsenal’s defence was, even Leon Best scored.

Birmingham 2 Arsenal 2 (2008)

Never did any season sum up better what ‘specialists in failure’ look like than 2007/08. Arsenal only lost three games but still got nowhere near the title. More than any other game though, it was this draw at Birmingham which ruined everything. Martin Taylor was sent off in the third minute for THAT tackle on Eduardo, leaving Arsenal to play the whole match against ten men. But they still managed to somehow not win after Gael Clichy gave away a last minute penalty. William Gallas started crying and Arsenal didn’t win again for five games.

9) Arsenal 2 Tottenham 3 (2010)

It has to be said that normally Spurs are the bottlejobs in this derby. But the 2010 match at the Emirates didn’t go the way of tradition. Wenger’s side outplayed their North London rivals to go into half time 2-0 up, but Gareth Bale pulled one back before Rafael Van der Vaart equalised with a penalty and Younes Kaboul scored the winner to give Spurs their only victory at Arsenal since 1993.

10) Arsenal 1 Man United 2 (1999)

This game is remembered as one of the defining moments of United’s treble winning season. But what is forgotten is that Arsenal bottled it so spectacularly that even today’s squad would be ashamed. With the game tied at 1-1, Roy Keane was sent off in the 74th minute. Then in the last minute of normal time Phil Neville conceded a needless penalty in the way only Phil Neville could. Dennis Bergkamp saw his kick saved by Peter Schmeichel before Ryan Giggs went past Arsenal’s entire defence to kill their Wembley dreams.

11) Arsenal 1 Chelsea 2 (2004)

Not even the Invincibles could go a whole season without bottling it. Arsenal had every reason to be confident, going into this Champions League Quarter Final second leg with a seventeen game unbeaten run against Chelsea. Jose Antonio Reyes put them ahead before Frank Lampard made it 1-1 on the night and 2-2 on aggregate. The tie looked set for extra time but then Wayne Bridge scored in the 87th minute to put Claudio Ranieri’s team through to the semi final.
