Burnley v QPR Match Thread

Post by ecc » Sat Apr 22, 2023 12:50 pm

Come on lads let's get this done and dusted. Suspect we'll see the return of several "regulars". I fully agree with the Man's decision to give gametime to certain fringe players. I also think VK has been giving a few players rest before the Battle of Blackburn. Barnsey is the first name on the teamsheet for Tuesday IMO. He won't want to miss that for anything. He'll love being Public Enemy Number One at Deadwood. I sadly predict local DHs venturing on the pitch to try to have a go and/or flares chucked at him.

Come on you Clarets!

Today, if going to Tinf More to see the Mightin Clarets, don't forget to bring a Food Tin for the Tin Bin Lads collection. Big day today. Help as many people as you can. All Clarets under the sun.

I predict two or three Blackburn players will put in very heavy challenges on him in the first 20 minutes after his escapades at the Turf!

No Foster or Tella but just great to see Rodriguez on the bench. I was beginning to think that we’d seen the last of him.

Absolutely gutted for Nathan Tella. He would have loved playing today if we clinch the title and we would love to watch him. Player of the season without a doubt. I’m sure he’ll be ready to join the lads in celebration if we win and light up Turf Moor with his smile.

Maybe off topic slightly but could we have seen the last of Nathan Tella in a Burnley shirt? If he is not returning next season and isn't quite fit even for the Cardiff game it would be unfair on everyone to play him. Hope not

I think that, providing things go well, we will see all of the remaining outfield-players (retained from last year) I.e. JRod, Ash, JBG, Corky, Josh Brownhill, Charlie T and Conner Roberts at some stage.
This will be the manager’s way of rewarding those players with a chance to acknowledge the fans.

All depends on who our manager is and then whether we can agree terms with Saints depending on which league they are playing in next season?

Great to see Brownhill returning to action, and Jay on the bench, pretty much full strength apart from Tella.

We are, just been poor in front of goal. Barnes in particular has shown why he hasn't scored many goals this season.

Hope they get what they deserve second half.

0-0 at HT, though quite how I'm not sure, just keep this intent up and surely we'll net one sooner or later.
