Absolute disgrace. Worst I’ve seen this season and that’s saying something, bearing in mind he didn’t have much to do. Utterly hopeless.

Probably the worst - No sorry definitely the worst ref I have seen this season. Terrible time keeping, allowing blatant cheating / time wasting from keeper. Frustrated.

As bad as you will see. Added a total of 11 minutes when it should have been closer to 15. P!ss weak, odd decisions, the list of poor decisions is absolutely endless. Reffed like he was on glue

Sadly had nothing to do as there was hardly any football played. The play acting was laughably weakly dealt with. I don't mind teams doing it when they're fighting for their lives and if there are no consequences then who can blame them.
So, in summary, the only thing he had to do was deal with the excessive time-wasting and he repeatedly did nothing.

All the sympathy in the world with the decisions refs have to make in real time.
But when they fail to enforce the basics of the game, its indefensible. No football game that doesn't involve a serious injury should finish after 5 o clock and if it does, the ref is responsible. Not booking players for kicking the ball away, not nailing time wasting, indulging players going down with cramp in the first half- that's on the ref. He has to be stronger.

Stamped his authority with the booking for time wasting in the 89th minute.
Really taught them a lesson.

0 for everything.
While people are paying to watch a timed sport time wasting should be deemed a criminal act.

Exactly, ultimately the fans are loosing out.
I'd like to see the actual statistics today regarding the time that ball was actually in play

Shicker of a performace - the serial time wasting was beyond belief. For all their rolling around second half the trainer didn't come on once - shambolic.

Other than his complete lack of authority in establishing and controlling the time wasting and professional shithousery. He was OK. Probably should have been 2 more mins in first half and 6 more in 2nd half additional extra time to what was given

8 minutes added could honestly have been 28. There was about 10-15 minutes of actual football played second half. They should have had three or four players booked for time wasting.

Genuinely difficult to imagine how he might have reffed differently if he'd been paid off by QPR. Say what you want about VAR, I am looking forward to at least having competent refs more often next season.

Referees like that, will have the game done away with. Whilst, QPR’s time wasting was farcical, they were allowed to get away with it, by a referee who exerted no authority whatsoever.
Their goalkeeper should have been booked in the first half and that would have set the tone. Somebody should tell him that simply keep pointing at his watch, does nothing to stop the time wasting.
As infuriating a game as I’ve been to in a long long time.

Never understand why refs don’t stamp out time wasting by having a word early on and then start carding
That should stop it in the first half
As others have said there was very little to referee

It’s a similar problem in the premier league too, as you quite rightly say, it should be an easy problem to solve.

Mainly through a lack of action he was complicit in the time wasting. A booking in the 89th minute does nothing exceot gobble up more seconds.
He could also be awarded an assist for the corner they scored from. Players fouling the keeper and he stops the taking of it. Why refs don't just let the corner go and penalise the offending team is beyond me.

Refs have cost us wins now in our last 2 games. First the handball not given at Rotherham that could have been 0-2 then today. The team were definitely affected by the antics and if stamped out early I think we would have won comfortably. I can’t blame QPR for trying, though it took cheating to whole new levels, the officials were mainly to blame for the farce the game became.

I hear people say it's time wasting, that is only a small element of what went on today.
The major reason for employing the tactics of going down 'injured', returning the ball into play slowly and kicking the ball away is more about breaking up play and not allowing us to get any momentum going. Adding on whatever amount of time at the end does not stop this happening.
The way to nip it in the bud is to warn teams early on that players will start to be booked if it continues, a caution on eighty eight minutes is laughable and completely toothless.
The reasons why the law makers are thinking about bringing in stop clocks etc is because the man in the middle is unable and unwilling to use the tools at his disposal to prevent this happening.

Not going to rate him but there have been worse referees than this clown this season. Very little authority. Even late on QPR players were getting on his case after freekicks given to waste time.

I was about to post the same. The time is supposedly added on at the end, but the game was just broken up for a stoppage every time the ball went dead. It led to such a disjointed second half which obviously benefited QPR, and in their position I can’t blame them for taking advantage of such a weak referee. 8 minutes was less than what should have been added on, but the reality is the referee should never be in a position where 8 minutes is required as additional time unless there has been a serious injury or two.

Never usually comment on refs as it’s a tough gig but my god, the complete lack of authority today was astonishing. You knew from the first few minutes that he wasn’t going to take control of the game and that basically gave QPR the green light to take it easy and start disrupting the game with feigned injury. He did nothing to stop it and it ruined the game and gave them an advantage which they capitalised on.

The way to stop it is to insist that any player who holds the game up through injury, has to go off and not return until the next break in play. Rough on those who are genuinely injured, but that's less than 10% of "injury" holdups. If the players are going to collectively cheat, then they will have to be collectively punished.
This leaving the field would also apply to those players who say they don't need the trainer but still manage to hold the game up while they struggle to their one remaining foot. (Which then miraculously recovers.) If a player is inured, the ref asks him if he needs treatment, and if not, the game goes on with or without him. If the man is not injured, then restart the game.. There is no need to wait for an uninjured man to get over his non-injury.

I don't think I've ever seen a referee demand a freekick be moved 5 yards to be taken from the exact spot of the foul, when the free kick was in our own penalty area. He was nearly as bad for time wasting as they were.

I’ve always had a bit of an issue with that in the case of genuine injuries though. If you’re hit by a poor tackle, it seems slightly unfair that your team have to play with 10 men for a short spell of the physio had had to come on.
