Having seen a lot of fans who have been all season miss
Out on a ticket tomorrow tweets like this from a YouTuber are a hard pill to swallow…

Why would anyone who has tickets give them away?
I have had mine under lock and key!

Weirdly I ended up with a spare because my mate can’t get back from work in time, he only got told this morning about his appointment.

I'm failing to see what the issue is?

A fellow Burnley fan gave another Burnley fan a ticket, how is that hard to swallow? He's not a hanger-on netural wanting to get in on some derby day action.

My dad (ST Holder) gave me his ticket for Man Utd at Dec, even though it was my first game of the season. Should either of us have felt guilty about that? Or should I have given my ticket away to some fan more deserving of me?

It was a ticket ballot for that specific person, the idea being that fans that were eligible for this game had to apply. Having only 2,000 surely you could see why this is an issue?

Are we still harping on about the deserving / undeserving Clarets fan debate? An issue caused by one club and one club only.

There is absolutely no issue with this at all. Someone won and then purchased a ticket and for whatever reason that said person can't go and gave it to a fellow fan to enjoy, which they are fully entitled to do.

So you applied for tickets with no intention of going to give the tickets to someone who either didn‘t have enough points or lost out in the ballot?

My point exactly. The ballot was to give everyone who qualified a fair chance just for people to give them to people without enough points.

Its actually beyond pathetic now, talk about sour grapes.

If said person person wins in a ballot, pays their own cash and for whatever reason can't go, they can do what they want with it. That's totally on them and have no issue with it. Giving it to another fellow fan to enjoy, brilliant. I hope they make a noise and enjoy every minute of it.

If they were touting it off for hundreds to line their own pockets, fair enough that'd warrant some stick and rightly so. But Spanish Inquisition tactics on fellow Clarets for getting a chance to go to a game? Nah bore off.

Again, one club and one club only caused this. And they wanted the exact reaction that you are giving them.

This thread and the chairman’s ticket thread are loony.

People can give tickets to whoever they like, it’s THEIR ticket to do with as they see fit.

So the complainers who feel people without enough points are getting tickets, if you didn't have the points and got offered a ticket by family or friends you would say no? Course you wouldn't.

Family commitments change, work commitments change, life changes....

I only care about about the Clarets come tomorrow evening wherever I end up watching it!

Because circumstances have changed since I bought the ticket, nothing to do with you or anyone else as to why

I could just not have used it

I could have sold it to someone unknown for vast profit

Or given it to a young season ticket holder....

I tried to give mine away on Saturday as I wasn’t sure I’d be able to make it. As it happens, I couldn’t give it away to quite a few people - all had valid reasons why they didn’t want to go varying from “I won’t go if I can’t go with who I normally go with” to “I’m not going to go to that sh!thole when I can watch at home”.

So I decided to take time off work and go up myself tomorrow evening, wasn’t that fussed until it could be one of those games we talk about for years… the one where we win the title at Ewood……

An issue that I'm not happy about is that a young lad (18) who has travelled with us to every away game this season (including friendlies) and who has 6000 points but was unsuccessful in the ballot, has ended paying some scroat £120 pounds for a concession ticket (and the guy was even asking for £150!). Not sure how someone could do that to a fellow Claret!

Are BR not breaking Football League rules by only allocating a few tickets to one particular club.

If anything merits a points deduction it's this!

I agree with you on that score thats a bit different to someone giving their ticket away due to circumstance change... Profiteering is ugly especially to a fellow supporter 😠 ...

I give my season ticket to a friend if am on holiday and wouldn't dream of charging for it (I might get a few free beers in the pub but thats different 😉) ...

As long as its 2000 Burnley fans in the away end, then its all good

I didn't bother entering the ballot, but I'm not going to begrudge anyone going who has got one by whichever way they have done it

It is essentially the "proper fan" debate and that is just silly

We are all fans of BFC or we wouldn't be on here

Is it a minimum of 2000 or 10% of your total attendance, same as the PL? Technically any business can decide who they sell their products to as long as its not discriminatory. Same way a restaurant/bar/pub will let 15 individuals people in but not 15 lads in fancy dress on a stag do etc.

Ultimately it is a shower of shite play by Rovers, not only out of pettiness but the masses of money they will miss out on.

It might have backfired for them though. If they were chancing their arm that we would have won it already before and doing it to stifle our celebrations, now we actually have a chance of winning it there and rubbing it in their face.

No, the 10% only comes into it if the capacity is less than 20,000 eg we got just over 1000 for Luton as their capacity is just over 10,000. I think that in the PL it's 30,000.

That’s the part that we can prove… if that is what the regulations state. It clearly is discriminatory based upon the colour of our shirts - they’ve let thousands more in from other clubs haven’t they…?

Definitely worth a letter to the EFL. They have sold us 5000+ on previous derbies (pre our last stint in PL) and the police have reduced their operations and "bubbles" etc. They have sold 5000+ to other clubs as well. Just don't know if it will stick.

Ultimately, just makes them look like idiots. Even more sweeter if we clench the title their tomorrow night.

Hi, Someone sent me this link so thought i'd add context as I don't want anything to think there's any wrong-doings here.

I sadly just like many many people didn't have the 6,000 Points required to enter the ballot, despite going to many games I still didn't have enough and that's just how it is. I purchased flights about a month in advance prior to the idiotic news that Blackburn planned when it comes to Capacity.

I put out a post just like hundreds online that if a spare came avaliable to let me know. I'm very very lucky that a Burnley Fan who entered the Ballot and won, can't go because he's at a Stag Do. I'll keep him annoymous but he DM'd me 2 weeks ago and I paid him the £30 for the face-value price.

Claiming that i'm just a YouTuber and not someone, who just like you have been home and away, spending every penny I had and going on Megabuses and Accy Clarets for the same love of Burnley Football Club is harsh. Season ticket holder since I was 7, Born in Burnley and raised in Barrowford and thanks to my Brother will be Burnley til the day I die. I'll be there and be very fortunate I am, and will cheer on the lads with the same passion as any of us. UTC

Just a fan that tries to be postive online about our football club, i'm very aware of how easy it is for youtubers/content creators to make their club look a laughing stock by crying and ranting online and I try to avoid any of that nonsense.
