Will say it again

Whatever happens, we are still promoted, and still either 30, 27 or 24 points ahead of them

I don't think a B**tard win represents a sea change in the East Lancs football hierarchy in the way our win at Ewood did either

It would be massively disappointing no doubt, but sometimes you have to step back and look at the bigger picture

Title at Ewood in front of the B@stards is Massive

We need the title after being in 1st place since before Christmas

Yes, but we will win the title

It would be beyond hilarious to win it at Ewood absolutely no doubt but the title is in the bag

I guess what I'm really saying is that whatever happens, its been a great season and we should remember that

Me too. Lancaster is right when they say a Rovers victory tonight does not signify a turning of the tide in East Lancashire like ours did in 2014. But that being said it's important on some level to keep the run going.

VK got it spot on after saturdays match - for 90% of season its match by match trying to achieve wins - all of a sudden its winning a title, winning a championship but the goal is exactly the same - winning a football match - yes in this instance there is a "special reward" for doing it. Play the game not the reward.

I think the second half against QPR, and particularly the fact we somehow lost that game will really spur us on tonight. Kompany is a born winner and that will have hurt him. He knows how much this game means to us, he understands what a derby in this country means.

Wounded animal springs to mind. We will continue to miss Tella, undoubtedly, but I think we will properly turn up tonight. We know we’re better than them, that is inarguable. We need to do our job.

I feel sick, absolutely hate what this game does to me, I hope we beat them and don’t play them again for a good few years

I'd love it if they never beat us again!

I don't like losing to them, but (and I've said this on here before) the days that they all pine for when they were the best and we were bouncing around the lower leagues have long gone and are never coming back

The odd derby defeat will never change that, and I reckon that is a good thing (obviously if you are a ******* then its the worst thing ever!)

Although I agree with what you're saying, them gloating about winning what is virtually a dead rubber for us is all they can hope for. I want us to **** all over that bit of hope and leave them with nothing.

As others have said, a loss wouldn't be the end of the world, but my word a win and being crowned champions at Ewood would be remembered in folklore.

All that being said, it would be a bit of an anti-climax to draw the game and then Sheffield United don't win and we win the league without a ball being kicked.

Those messages from Lancs above are for tomorrow if we fail to win, not for today.

We have to feel the grief if it goes against us in the derby, that’s part of football. The day after may bring some realism.

And if they go up along with us, we have gained little on them other than a trophy.

Agree with jedi. For a month or so I've felt that we'll probably end up losing this game, based on the likelihood that we'd already be champions and they'd be desperate for the points.

With a few hours to go I feel like we're going to win it now. There's a huge incentive in being able to win the title there, plus I expect a big reaction after Saturday. Kompany's words about playing the game and not the occasion couldn't be any more relevant in this case, and I fancy us to do just that.

In what sense is this a dead rubber for us?
We need 3 points for the Championship, and if we don't get them tonight then we'll be 4 games without a win, and 2 very tricky games to come - particularly the home game, which could define Cardiff's season.
Of course, we're all assuming that Sheffield will slip up somewhere, but until that happens every game is a Championship decider.

Impossible to play down this game. Everyone that remembers those ‘34 years’ chants and them singing ‘Burnley’s going down forever’ before the game in 09/10 surely feel the same. Have to keep that unbeaten run going.

I'm not relaxed, nor am I confident after the way we've been playing lately, I know we can win if we play like we did over Easter and that's what I'm looking for, the team I've been watching for most of the season after steadying ourselves from the first few games. Where players were getting used to their new teammates and playing a dominant style of football that was easy to watch, whilst the last few have not been a great watch IMO and I was expecting the opposition to score. Let's see which team turns up tonight, but I'm ready and like many I do believe we will be Champions and have silverware at the end of the season.

If we lose tonight, it’ll be carnage on here with flapping left, right and centre.

Most of the squad won’t be good enough.

Yes, all remembered

But they weren't in the same league as us (to put it mildly) for the vast majority of that

Once we'd beaten them, then this became a much more normal derby

Yes, it will be hurt like hell to lose (mainly because thanks to SD and VK we've been far better than them for a generation) but not like it did when we hasn't played them for decades

If you'd been in that away end for the 5-0 (and I was) then the final redemption was November, as that 3-0 was just as comprehensive, and the gulf between the two sides was just as big, if not bigger

Goes without saying that I hope we stuff them out of sight, but I won't be going overboard if we don't

I'm pretty sure if that happens people will let out their disappointment.

A defeat will inevitably pose questions about tonight but overall most people are happy with how the squad has performed all season

Most people?

I’d be amazed is there was anyone who isn’t happy with how the squad has performed this season.

Ashley Barnes will be getting into his team mates about the importance of this game, no way will he allow them to enter the pitch without knowing what this means to us.
Oh and Ash, we can call them bstrds, you really shouldn't in an interview unless you want another fine.😁
C'mon You Clarets!

If Barnes repeats his performance in the Turf and doesn't look as impotent as he usually does there a great chance we will win.
