I think those scores undermine the accomplishment. Seems perverse on this might, to score below 10!

Re: Blackburn v Burnley - Player Ratings
In that case there were 12's and 8's-I was purely scoring on tonight and at times we were poor in certain aspects of our play, but as I said in another post we rediscovered the art of finding a way to win, and once in front we took control. Got 3 points and thats all that mattered, when we could easily have lost.

Re: Blackburn v Burnley - Player Ratings
Thought Taylor was dreadful for 20 mins in the 2nd half ,but had a cracking last 25 mins.

Re: Blackburn v Burnley - Player Ratings
Muric 8 - sound in everything he did
Roberts 7 - steady
Al-Dakhil 9* - proper talented lad, so cool and for a centre back he's rapid
Taylor 6 - defended generally really well but woeful on the ball
Maatsen 7 - gets criticism for his defending, though did it well today when needed
Cullen 7 - better second half when the changes were made
Brownhill 6 - couldn't really get a grip on the game
Vitinho 5 - tries but doesn't have the ability to play that role for me
Zaroury 7 - he was pretty good and our biggest threat until Benny came on
Barnes 6 - struggled first half, nothing really stuck and seemed off the pace, better second
Benson 9 - match winner, again, sharper than anyone on the pitch in his all round play too
Cork 8 - helped regain some control in there

Re: Blackburn v Burnley - Player Ratings
What a fabulous night.
Muric - 7 - really assured, commanding night with ball at feet and balls into the box. A good yardstick of how much he's improved at the basics as the season has gone on.
Roberts - 7 - not his finest night but steady enough.
Maatsen - 7 - solid night's work.
Al Dakhil - 9- put under huge pressure but came out the other side with his reputation hugely enhanced. Assured, calm, and quick.
Taylor - 6 - Good defensively but targeted in possession in the second half and didn't show up especially well.
Cullen - 7 - not bad but he's had tidier nights and he missed having Cork alongside him.
Brownhill - 6 - didn't do enough to help Cullen as second receiver at the base of midfield, but scrapped hard.
JBG - 5 - really not his night and rightly hooked.
Vitinho - 6 - started well, but quickly became a bit neutral in attack, although he remained diligent in defence.
Zaroury - 7 - in and out of the game but produced 2 or 3 dangerous crosses and should have had 2 Rovers' players booked for cynically stopping him running.
Barnes - 6 - battled hard without really being able to dominate his opponents.
Cork - 8 - a bit lucky with the booking but gave us an extra deep receiver in midfield, backed up the second balls better and that made all the difference.
Benson - 8 - what a hit.
Not our best night but we earned our credit when nothing bounced for us on Saturday, and we stood up to a real examination from Rovers hugely impressively. Big shout out to Ak Dakhil - best player on the pitch - and a goal from Benson worthy of winning any Championship.

Bizarre that there’s already been a goal of the season award - given the context, absolutely nothing tips that by Benson.Wile E Coyote wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 11:07 pmBenson 50000, he can share the ratings out with whoever he chooses.

Re: Blackburn v Burnley - Player Ratings
Muric 8 - did little wrong, had to go long often due to press and CBs uncomfortable passing out
Roberts 8 - Brereton Diaz kept very quiet
Al-Dakhil 8 - a few hairy moments but kept his head brilliantly and will have learned so much
Taylor 8 - 5 for first 80 minutes and 10 for last 10 minutes when he doggedly saved the game a few times like Burnley of old
Maatsen 7 - a few unwise passes but actually played well on the whole with some great interceptions
Cullen 8 - they tried to mug him and not just after the final whistle, he held it together well
Brownhill 7 - felt like he was doing the job of two men
Vitinho 6 - his energy helped us at times but little threat
JBG 6 - no space and shouldn’t really have been picked for this one but what do I know
Zaroury 8 - they were scared stiff of him, not much came off but he kept them occupied
Barnes 9 - a tricky night but invaluable at the end, was everywhere, playing beach volleyball one minute and bantering the fans the next
Cork 10 - so good from minute 1, had the edge that he knew was needed (a la Savage I reluctantly say), turned it our way
Benson 10 - i bet if we google “how to change a game” a picture of Manuel comes up
A difficult night with the ultimate happy ending. The team didn’t initially have enough battlers I felt, nor enough pace, but VK was limited by injuries and obviously made the right calls by the end. Nobody yet has called out that tinpot club for their scandalous 2000 allocation which is the only downside, should have been more of us witnessing that, so the stable operators and chicken farmers got what they deserved for their silly jealousy - nowt.
Not a night to point out shortcomings which were obvious in certain positions and my ratings reflect dogged desire and derby grit predominantly which I reckon will be under-marked but Rovers played as well as they can and we had the quality they couldn’t match.

Don’t do player ratings however the impact that Jack Cork had on the game……….another great substitute by VK, I’m sure Cork was given some orders and carried them out.

Re: Blackburn v Burnley - Player Ratings
Just about down from cloud 9
What a night Manuel Benson is absolutely magic.
Jack Cork huge contribution
Muric was fantastic
The defence were excellent defensively
We weren’t at our best on the ball however that didn’t matter tonight was all about winning and being crowned champions.
Thank you Burnley FC and thank you Vincent…. This burnley fans certainly loves you more than you will ever know
10s all round

Re: Blackburn v Burnley - Player Ratings
What a night. Not very often you'll get the chance to see your team crowned champions in your auld enemies hood and probably less often they take that chance. Feeling very lucky tonight.
Bright start and we looked in control but let them get on top a bit after some bizarre refereeing decisions seems to rattle us.That said, they never properly troubled us and the one moment of magic in the game has deservedly won it.
Muric 8 handled really well especially claiming some corners under pressure
Roberts 7 not as effective going forward as late (maybe +1 for marking his location as Deadwood on Instagram)
Al Dakhil 8 he's a player alright
Taylor 7 only slightly bettered by Al Dakhil due to some dithering on the ball but his experience and no onsense defending were vital. Both centre halves suffered from a total lack of movement in front if them for long periods.
Maatsen 7 targeted 2nd half and stood up to it fine
Brownhill 6 better when we got Cork on
Cullen 8 the metronome was also helped by Cork's introduction but he was everywhere again harrying and his calm touches settled us when we needed it
Gudmundsson 5 didn't really work for him tonight and wasn't involved too much
Vitinho 4 suffers from not really having a position but apart from one nice turn he didn't show the urgency or presence of mind for this game
Zaroury 7 not everything came off but he was our biggest threat all game. Does need to stop pretending he's injured though.
Barnes 8 excellent tonight, led the line really well, dragged us through when the less experienced players needed it, bollocked zaroury for lying on the floor when he needed to be putting pressure on the ball. The energy he still had to be chasing down near the end showed just how much you have to want it to get your rewards.
Cork 8 the key element in wresting back control of the match and probably should have started. Unlucky to be booked for clearly winning the ball and was then walking a tightrope but that didn't effect him.
Benson 8 a title winning goal if ever there was one and unlucky with the open goal. They were terrified of him as shown when 1 of them took him out together minutes after he came on.
A season of the stuff dreams are made of, topped with the reality of a once in a lifetime opportunity that we took.
Viva Burnley Football Club.
Bright start and we looked in control but let them get on top a bit after some bizarre refereeing decisions seems to rattle us.That said, they never properly troubled us and the one moment of magic in the game has deservedly won it.
Muric 8 handled really well especially claiming some corners under pressure

Unreal and Bittersweet. Unreal because I thought we'd be lucky to end up in the top half this season. Bittersweet as I could only watch the celebrations on Sky and my eyes kept focusing on the 6,000 empty seats. Thanks Rovers but please don't ever forget we clinched the Championship 22/23 at Ewood.

Benson 8-Can't make my mind up which of his strikes this season was the best, but last night was certainly the sweetest.

Re: Blackburn v Burnley - Player Ratings
Muric 8 (some excellent high claims. Almost Popesque!)
Roberts 7(struggled with Diaz)
Al Dakil 8
Taylor 6 (good defensively, but distribution....??)
Maatsen 6 (but given some crap passes from Taylor tbf)
Cullen 8 (MOM)
Brownhill 7
Vitinho 6
JBG 5
Zaroury 8
Barnes 7
Benson 8
Cork 8
After a bright start where we dominated, we let them back into it and a lot of that was down to us struggling to play out from the back with Taylor getting pressured and looking increasingly ponderous. It always looked like if it was going to be won at all it would be a mistake or a wonder goal!! I'm so glad it was the latter and that it was ours!!!

Yes that goal wins GOTS about 6 times as he's scored the exact same goal so many times this season I have lost count now.
