Of course he's clueless, I'm not arguing about that, but as I said he never took the time to develop as a manager.

However that Chelsea squad is disjointed, dispirited etc and he's only a temp manager so the players aren't going to "leave it all on the field" for him.

The next manager has a lot of work to do, even the lauded Poch, so that's going to be interesting to watch.

I'm saying pick an XI with square pegs in square holes and simplify it.

If his players are tossing it off big time and he thinks it's because he's only interim then he should bury them - be interesting to see if their running stats/sprints recorded are down

Bad management or the inability to deal with what they call player power.

Frank should have stayed with Derby but he saw the pound signs and left.

I don’t think he did that much of a good job at Derby. Made the play offs but so did the manager the year before without being able to borrow premier league players from his mates.

Frank is a very poor manager. Can you imagine VK with the opportunities that bloke has had? Frank was poncing about doing keepy uppys in a training session I saw the other day. The ultimate all about me personality and you can really see why players can’t buy into him or his methods.

It is incredible really. In what other industry would you be given a top job with zero experience?? It’s just bizarre and I can see why certain managers who never seem to get a look in with these jobs get so frustrated. Playing and managing are completely different skill sets so why Chelsea wanted Lampard as manager the first time around having done nothing at Derby is mind blowing.

Second time around, Chelsea would have been better off sticking with Potter until at least the end of the season instead of bring Lampard back! Strange club, so poorly run.

Regardless of what happened at Chelsea you have to respect a man who started preparing his management career by obtaining an Open University degree, worked at Hull Uni as Football Development Manager. Then he worked with the Ghana women's team. First club job: Ostersund in Sweden's D4.

The man will get back with a club more suited to sensible planning and giving him time. Not many clubs like that I know. Palace might be one though.

Aye, brilliant that was. Insane if you're an Everyon fan, but it comes across as top banter: "soz, can't do owt with this shite". I genuinely admire the balls on him to even suggest that. Absolute polar opposite of a chancer. Adored at every club he's ever managed, too.

Saw Will Still on a coaches' voice episode on youtube, and while he seems very tactically thoughtful, he comes across as totally uninspiring on a personality level. In fairness that video is all I've heard from him so he might be more energetic around his players, I don't know. I genuinely think you need a bit of charisma about you to truly succeed in footy (Kompany is overflowing with it, even Dyche has it in a different way), and to bring this back to the thread topic to use as an example, Lampard looks like he's always about to burst into tears. That's got to rub off badly on the players.
