Which big moments in the season stand out to you?
Bensons goal at Ewood was the cherry on top but I'm going to go for Maatsen at Swansea. We were struggling to get a grip of the game, with Swansea's love of possession. Then a great free kick and shot from outside the box, from our left back gave us the win to keep the run going.
He certainly stepped up when needed.

Ten minutes of injury time board v Rotherham going up, followed immediately by Benson equalising. We had ten minutes to find a winner…and we did

In a season of so many moments, how can you choose one. The stadium singing ‘Burnley’s won 10 in a row’ after just demolishing PNE at home was pretty special. The sheer joy when Barnes netted his second vs the B@stards. Twine’s FK at home to WBA was an amazing moment.
But if I was pressed, I’d go for the final whistle at Boro. I don’t know why but it just felt extra special, a whole season captured into that moment, even though we knew it was coming. It being a night game, on tv, packed away end, against the team in 3rd place, immediate passion of our players, likes of Cork dropping to his knees, Barnes’ emotion…

Does preseason count? Kompany's appointment, the access we had via a revitalised media team, all the signings and the remoulding of the club on and off the pitch... every morning it felt like there was something new happening, momentum starting. And then... Huddersfield.

Obviously it helped if you were there but this for me as well
Plus had both kids with me and for them to experience a night like that was absolutely brilliant

I felt quite a bit of joy at his first to be honest, especially I noticed where the keeper was!

There are so many to choose from but the opening game at Huddersfield was a big moment. The way we played that night, from the style of football to the total domination of the opponent laid down a marker and raised many eyebrows. The fact that it was a brand new team and their first competitive game together made it even more impressive.

Huddersfield blew my mind, how on earth could we play so fluidly after just a few training sessions?

The complete and total demolition of the b@stards at the turf.
And on a personal level getting home for 3 games including Coventry away with accy Clarets(doth ot cap to leisure for the coach).and getting to watch us flogging Swansea 4 nowt with my dad.

Every fan staying on after the b@stards game and chanting ‘you’re f*****g s**t’ as every one of them slumped off skulkilly. It destroyed them.

Big moment in terms of a defining moment would be the second half away at Sunderland, though I don't know if you can class 45 minutes as a moment

The first game of the season v Huddersfield and the realisation that we were witnessing the beginning of something very special.

First big moment for me was Wigan away - the day everything fell into place
Then the next big moment was Sunderland. It wasn’t just a big moment for the team, showing that we were able to overcome what let’s be honest was a terrible first half, but personally for a certain Mr A Barnes. Without that game I doubt we would have got the Ashley we have had since 12:30 13th November 2022

Without a doubt the home win over Rovers. We'd just been hammered by SU
We then went into the world cup break on top and have never looked back.
Specifically the first Barnes goal and dumping their keeper in the net.

Last minute goals but I realise they don't count as 'a moment'. Not been one of our strengths scoring very late goals. So, I'll choose one and go for the one v Reading at home.

Another vote for the Barnes header against Rovers.
Perfect cross, perfect header. Then chaos everywhere.

3-3 at home to Blackpool.
Since that game, besides Sheff Utd away, the team became a lot more resilient and tougher to crack.
I would also say the World Cup, basically gave Kompany a 2nd pre-season having the players on the training ground for 4 weeks and returned to league with 9 straight wins.

Coming back to beat Sunderland 2-4 away after being 2-0 down at half time and seemingly going nowhere. Barnes subbed off then wingers Zaroury and Benson got to work!

As mentioned above the 2nd half against Sunderland, the Barnes header against Blackburn the injury time at Rotherham and Twines free kick against WBA.
I’d also suggest JBGs free kick down at Loftus Road. Our first game back after the World Cup and it was good to pick up where we had left off against Blackburn a few weeks prior.

The most memorable moment because we must include the bonus of pushing their goalkeeper in the net for good measure. A memory of Barnes and of this season. Just brilliant.

2 down to Sunderland, and not playing well.
That second half must have given us a massive lift, and belief, for the rest of the season.

The Blackpool game was kind of a line in the sand moment. We made a rick for their first goal and the fans were a bit jumpy for the rest of the game.
Don't think we let in another goal all season from playing it out from the back. It showed the players and fans were trusting of how we were going to play. This could've gone south very quickly.
There have been many big moments, but totally dismantling PNE and Rovers at home was an absolute joy to watch.

Wigan and Hull away, Rotherham and PNE at home were fun, Sunderland away amazing. Before Wigan away it was strange. Lots of new faces, a very different style and loads of imperfections. The team clicked for me at Wigan away though. The bravery on the ball, the requisite fight to compete and a desire from the players to relate with the fans - they love the singing and the passion from the fans. Both derby games are going down in history. I think Vinny learnt loads from the Blackpool game.
Boro is the best away I've ever had though. Very special night. It was pretty hostile in there and Boro are a decent team. Our fans were on it. I didn't expect the celebrations at the end. It was wild. If you could show someone who knows nothing about football why fans do what they do and why football is special; that away end was the example. This team are amazing and this season has been incredible.

That little run of four wins from Sunderland away and the three home games that followed.
Then, after the defeat at Sheffield United, we could have gone third for the World Cup had Blackburn beaten us. That was the first of ten successive wins which really set us up.

From the first game at Huddersfield away wondering what the heck are we witnessing here? to being at Boro at the final whistle when we knew we had clinched promotion….and everything in between….can’t pin point one big moment in this season in our house. It’s all been just ONE BIG MOMENT

Borough away, stands up there with some of the proudest and best away days I’ve experienced in my BFC life. The way we just dominated and dictated the play against the in form team in the league was a joy to watch. But beating the horsey lot down the road at Deadwood to win the league was something very special especially coming from Great Harwood. I was walking the dog today and one of their finest shout F off you Burnley B@stard brilliant ha ha

Sheffield United away for me.
I’m the worst times you find out the best of people, that 2nd half was weirdly exactly what we needed.
As shown in the next 10 league games after it and beyond!

Me and my Dad have had some fantastic away days this season, but I can’t not go back to Huddersfield when I see the thread title.
I was just in utter disbelief at what I was watching. The half time break we just looked at each other confused as to what to say. Absolutely unbelievable. It may have only been 1-0 that night but 3/4 wouldn’t have flattered us and it was more about how well drilled and understanding of this entirely new system we already were. Some of the performances that night (especially from Cullen) showed us the level of player we had signed and they kept it up.

There are so many. But I would also agree with the Barnes header against Blackburn. I remember that they had just shoved Zaroury off the pitch and he was furious. He was determined to beat their fullback and sent a beautiful cross-over for Barnes who made no mistake.

Cullens scruffy goal at Stoke in the 1-0 win.
We wasn’t nowhere near our best and was fortunate to not concede, we didn’t look like scoring then we a got a goal from the most unlikely player, we did what champions do and found a way. Right infront of the sold out away end which erupted with limbs all over.

Can’t look too far past the late winners v Rotherham at home and WBA at home.
The WBA in particular felt very significant as at the time they were flying and the celebrations for the winner were loud. I think that was our ‘Michael Keane equaliser v Boro’ moment this season.

So many moments
Huddersfield first game
The week of reading and Rotherham at home and sheff united away
Rovers at home (obviously)
QPR game first one back after World Cup break was a real statement of we are right back at it already
WBA and twine free kick
Boro away
Rovers away

For me it was the first game of the season that my son and I attended and it was a defeat. Third game in, was it, against Watford and after 10 minutes I turned to my son and said said something along the lines of wow, well this is different. And even though it was a 1-0 defeat you could get a sense that this could be great and sure enough it was. It also acted as the catalyst to get us both back in the groove, being more interested in the Clarets and actually attending more games this season than I have for a long long time. Fair weather supporter I know, but I am happy with that.

1 Bringing in VK as manager and then signing all those unknown, young but hopefully talented players before the season started made me feel quite giddy with anticipation.
2 Watching the football revolution start at Huddersfield away with three points and actually passing to each other in space and creating genuinely good chances.
3 Wigan and Sunderland away when we scoring 4s and 5s, I knew then we had a quality team capable of going up.
4 The couple of late goal wins showed we had a team that never gave up.
5 QPR away after the World Cup break when when carried on as normal with a three nil away win.
6 Barnes knocking the Rovers’ keeper into the back of the net and Tella giving the Blackburn players the three fingered salute.
7 Preston at home, they simply couldn’t live with us
8 The back to back wins against Borough and Sheffield, the two other so-called best teams in the Championship.
9 All our dreams come true, winning the Championship title at Ewood Park was a heavenly, cathartic experience.
Perhaps my favourite season in 70 years of watching Burnley, to see the smiles on all our young players’ faces made me so proud to be a Claret. Let’s take it all forward now with belief and confidence.
