Does Pace have a plan B.? Who is going to find to manage us in the Prem playing the footbLl we have evolved into playing. In hoping he can pull another master stroke.
How about Will Sill or Matthias Jaissle.

Potter - my #1 but very unlikely as I think he’ll go to a Leicester / Palace before us

Knutsen - our current squad is built for his style of play, he was also Brighton’s second choice after De Zerbi…

Viera - big name, Prem exp, can speak several languages, decent enough football

Still - superb job at Reims in France, young progressive coach

Martin - people look at Swansea and think mid-table but he’s not been backed by the owners and plays a style that suits where we are heading as a club (Brighton hired Potter from Swans after he finished mid-table)

Some good names there off the top of my head.

Personally I’d go for Mark Hughes at Bradford or John Coleman at Accy, failing that Brian Laws wouldn’t be a bad shout.

Suspect Potter might go to a more established club in the prem (West Ham/Palace)

Not a clue really, but the only thing I'd be sure about is that it would have to be a coach with a very similar style and some top flight experience

There’s always Plan D if Dyche doesn’t fancy a couple of seasons in the Championship with Everton. :(

Did he have a plan when he let SD go?

There you have it….

One thing is for sure tho….he won’t be taking advice from anyone on here.

No chance of that happening. Kompany has been excellent, humble, signed young exciting players and plays exciting football.

Nothing at all to trash him on unlike some of our previous incumbents.

Not great though that at the point of our triumph he's allowing himself to be in the frame / in talks (to whatever extent) with two other clubs to move away. Granted it's not him agitating to move, we assume, and just bad timing, but he's obviously only committed to BFC if and for as long as nothing better comes along.

But maybe it was always thus and we could expect no more from a man of his calibre and profile, and a club with our lesser profile and means.

Francesco Farioli for a left field shout. Knutsen or Martin another two mentioned that would be a good fit. Think Potter would be too much of a leap.

Feel we'd probably be under pressure to get more of a name given a big part of our success in the market came from having a big name like Kompany at the helm. Not sure where we go with that though, maybe Viera?

What an odd thread. Unless I’ve missed something VK is our manager, why are you discussing his replacement? It’s bad enough when the media ‘sell’ our players/managers, we don’t need our fans doing it as well. It smacks of the same attitude when we get a new player, how much can we sell him for.
Are there any more negative fans around than ours? Or at least some of them.

To be fair it's public knowledge that our manager is on the shortlist for 2 of the biggest clubs in the country, that in most normal seasons play in the CL / EL - something City would like on the CV of Pep's future replacement.
The state that both of them are in at the moment it seems difficult VK could take them any further backwards.
I feel like VK will be here one more season but it would be pretty big if he turned down an offer from either of them, definitely not to be taken for granted.

I’d be happy with that shortlist and I think Carrick would me my no 1 choice given the turnaround at Boro. But could well stay at Boro if they get promoted. So for that reason I hope they don’t make it.

Agreed there have been alleged links (given that it’s the media who knows about the truth of them - Dyche was leaving to a couple of dozen clubs until he was sacked with no club to go to) but my point is there was a discussion about his successor going on as though he was leaving. Surely the time for those conversations is at that point?

......... "so do we "

Just recalling what we used to sing about Brian O'Neil on the Longside in the late 60s.

Well, he did go, but we stayed, and it will be the same when VK eventually leaves.

Take what is written by these so called journalists and Twitter accounts with a pinch of salt. Need to remember
A) VK under contract
B) Clubs would need permission to speak to VK
C) Compensation would need to be agreed

Remember all the speculation around SD and how many jobs he was favourite for but never ended up getting one

Pep Guardiola. If Kompany leaves, it will be to replace him so he will be available.

Until then, pay him whatever we need to keep him.

West Ham really are up their own asses and think they are a bigger club than they are. Not a chance VK will be going there but the media just can't leave it alone.

Despite the miracle VK has performed this season, under no circumstances should we pay him whatever it takes to keep him.

As with SD, if things go awry (football history shows that given long enough things eventually turn a bit sour) then a big contract makes things a bit more tricky.

By all means offer a better contract but not a massive one.

Just looked on Oddschecker and VK is 33/1 to be the next West Ham boss.
