I could watch that goal over and over again. Fortunately I don’t have to watch a replay to do so.

I hope he will be practicing to shoot with his other foot over the Summer :D

Just incredible how he has improved during the season, almost unplayable.

If he can make the step up next season what a player he could become.

Only cost £3M didn't he ? Absolute bargain.

Best of the lot that one. How far the ball was going away from him to get that whip on it is unbelievable.

He seems to be falling over as he hits it. Love Roberts' reaction.

Only wished he’d scored it at our end! Watching the replay it’s an absolutely world class strike. He’s actually going the wrong way when he hits it and it looked like he had overhit the touch before the shot meaning he’s reaching for the ball when he hits it!!! Ridiculous! 😂

He must be in the sights of some big clubs. He's just a joy and can go both ways around a defender. Hope we can keep him and Zaroury who wlll get back to his best.

I can't remember exactly the game, it might be sensible soccer, or Fifa96 or WorldCupItalia90 on the megadrive, but there was a popular football game that had an accidental 'you will always score if you do this', so once it was figured out everyone did whatever that was, but you were informed of this 'cheat' through either football or computer magazines, years before the internet was a massive thing.

Manuel Benson is like that Match Magazine Sega Cheat Code. Go on the outside, turn inside, shoot from outside the area, score. Stop me if you can.

Nigel Pearson commented after that he was annoyed at the first goal as they've spent the week discussing how to stop Benny getting onto his left foot

I’m sure a prominent poster , after a couple of games (long enough to get a fair judgement for UTC) compared Benson to Lennon but without feet.

Trouble is, he’s so quick and he can go both ways which keeps the fullback guessing. It’s easy to cover his left foot, but if you do that he just goes the other way and leaves you for dead. A nightmare for full backs, hence why they tried to double up on him throughout, which still didn’t work! 🤣
Defensively, the retreating midfielder who lets him shoot should have thrown himself at the ball, but I’m sure glad he didn’t!

Exactly, only your best in the prem will stop him

& that’s why it’s so important for players to be able to go both ways - especially wingers.

There’s no better sight in Football imo than a tricky winger dribbling inside and out carving fullbacks open - just brilliant

With the likes of Benny & Nasser doing the business down each wing, the entertainment level is going to be as such that we'll rarely last on MOTD.

It really is. He showed flashes at the start but not completely convincing. There were times today he just looked like he was on a totally different level.

Same old goal every blooming match! Time he headed one in! 😁

(As long as he keeps his goal a match, I am more than happy to accept the world beating one repeated!)

I think today's effort was the best of the 4. Double teamed by the defence but that dummy completely sold both of them, even if it took it just a little further from him than he wanted. How he managed to get the power into the shot whilst extending so much AND having to drag it back as well, I can only guess.

Yes, I agree, although the title winning goal at Ewood is my favourite because of importance.

The Belgian John Barnes.

He was the master of that goal drifting in from the left, using the defender as a shield and bending into the far top bins.

Benson is just unplayable at times. Is that 7 times now this season he has scored that goal?

Definitely on another level at times today. He played quite well at points earlier in the season, for example, at Old Trafford against prem opponents but he has progressed from there. I think with a good pre season and work on his fitness we could see an absolute star next season, if we can keep him.

How many of those goals has he scored this season. I know it’s four in a row but I can remember at least one other (Rotherham at home?).

Boro home? Definitely did the cut inside but I think it was more of a near post finish.

Benson's contribution to winning points this season has been remarkable. I genuinely think without him we'd still be battling it out for promotion with Sheff Utd and Luton. What a player.

Although not as “whipped in” as the others, Sunderland away

I think of all the attacking players we’ve got, he is best equipped to make the step up. He looked dangerous at Old Trafford earlier in the season.

Jimmy Mac was before my time but for those that are blessed to have seen both, how do they compare? When Jimmy got the ball was there that feeling of 'here we go then' like there is when Manuel receives it, I presume so.

The Bristol fans after the game were very complimentary to Benson.said everyone around then clapped when it went in.

Great weekend, enjoyed Clifton, the bars on the river full of Burnley, Stokes Croft and City centre.lots of fans coming over and congratulating us on the promotion

To be fair, I though the Bristol defenders has done a pretty good job of showing him away from goal, but he still managed to whip that shot in from a yard behind him.
