Oh well! Perhaps MT was just never meant to be.
Seems to have been going on all summer.

If that’s the case, so be it. Don’t want players who are unsure here. With Amdouni, Foster, JBG, Zaroury, Ramsey, Benson, Odobert, Redmond, Larsen competing for these forward slots I can’t see he’s a priority.
Please get a LB and some midfield cover though Vinny.

Also maybe why the cornet link appeared, might of known about tresor earlier and moved on

Tresor is too 'fancy Dan' anyway.

Really bad news that I suspect is money or being tapped up elsewhere, feels like Cucurella over again, but we have enough up top I suspect until January. Left back and now centre back are the top priorities. Got to be THB who will surely be dashing over desperately as I write, he won’t want to be floundering in the Championship.

I posted earlier on the thread that I was a bit concerned that West Ham or Brighton would appear with a more lucrative contract. Who knows? Is that Belgium journo reliable? I am not on X so can't search him.

Those reports must be 24 hours old. Nunes going to City and Tresor not signing for us.

OK Clive, I've crossed them again.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Suggestion of a move now for Tresor’s Genk buddy, Joseph Paintsil:
https://x.com/sanniedaara/status/169702 ... 80592?s=46
He is someone I suggested as a like for like Tella replacement earlier in the summer.
Not sure on the source.

Interesting, paintsil has great Goals and assists return last season to, is this a smokescreen to hurry tresor to make a decisionRVclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 6:38 amSuggestion of a move now for Tresor’s Genk buddy, Joseph Paintsil:

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I thought exactly the same thing Easy. Tresor has been a bit of a strange one - was under the impression earlier in the window that he was keen to play for VK and then we went a bit cold as we looked at other options. Yesterday we’d agreed personal terms and a smart, structured deal with Genk and now his entourage are saying he’s having a think.
Pretty certain VK will deal with it in his usual way - if a player isn’t 100% certain he’ll look elsewhere.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Bit of an odd one. Unless there’s interest from elsewhere, he’s in danger of spending at least another 4 months in the Belgium top flight, which is neither the challenge or the profile of the Premier League.
I suppose one factor might be that with a loan to buy deal, he’s pretty much stuck with us next season because you can’t be sold twice in one window under UEFA rules from memory. He might be worried that we go down and he’s playing Championship football. It’d be a pretty unambitious attitude though.

I was told Beyer original injury was his calf but then he got injured again in training which could of been ligament damage and he is out for 8 weeks, if true and with ekdal injury it makes absolute sense to go and get THB back on loan

Feels like it’s an agent trying his arm to squeeze more money out of the deal as the window is closing.
And if we’ve dug in it could be a case of who blinks first.

I’ve been told that Beyer jumped the low barrier in the Bob Lord on Saturday to get to his seat. And when asked was he was confident his injury wasn’t bad and won’t be out for long.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 7:38 amI was told Beyer original injury was his calf but then he got injured again in training which could of been ligament damage and he is out for 8 weeks, if true and with ekdal injury it makes absolute sense to go and get THB back on loan

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
From what I saw on Social Media yesterday, it wasn't just that Tresor was having second thoughts, it was that he had completely pulled the plug. I don't know if that is the truth or not, but I doubt we have time to be messing around right now.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
HLN report on Tresor
‘Surprising turnaround Wednesday night in Mike Trésor's transfer file. While KRC Genk and Burnley smoothed out the final folds to complete the deal, the forward decided not to get on the plane to England. To Vincent Kompany to convince him today.
Mike Trésor's transition from KRC Genk to Burnley was in the very last phase on Wednesday night. For example, everyone within KRC Genk confirmed Wednesday in Turkish Adana, where Racing defends a 2-1 lead in the backmatch of the Conference League playoffs against local Demirspor on Thursday evening (20h). The last points and commas were almost set, there was also a plane ready to pick up the player in Belgium so that he could take his physical and medical tests in England.
But in extremis, 24-year-old Trésor, who is still under contract in Genk until mid-2025, started to doubt whether this would be the right step in his career. And he decided not to travel to the UK. Preliminary or final? That is the question now. Manager Vincent Kompany, who was unreachable on Wednesday night because he was on the bench during the League Cup win at Nottingham Forest (0-1), will now have to do everything they can to convince Trésor after all. He doesn't have too much time left for that, the summermercato ends in England on Friday evening at 11 p.m. local time.‘

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Leave him where he is.
Yes his stats are good but this is the league where Vincent Janssen was joint 3rd top scorer in the same league last season.
Maybe the thought of playing in a tough league doesn't appeal to his mentality, but if the truth is he is unsure about playing for us in a better league on more money then he should stay there.

Can anyone tell me why Lukebakio Verbruggen Tresor and apparently Sambi have said no to Burnley?
Is the food rubbish? Does it smell bad? Are the ladies not so sightly at Burnley?
Do we offer minimum wages?
All these guys were destined to come yet for some odd reason decided not to. I just can't wrap my head around it. It can't be the wage being offered can it?

Tresor has been linked to Brighton, Brentford and West Ham I believe. He probably thinks he should be playing for a top ten team
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I don't rate him. Honestly I think Genk would be better off without him. Plays without vision. Just a fast player that likes to dribble without eye for his teammates. Hope they sell him to another club crazy enough to pay for him.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 6:44 amInteresting, paintsil has great Goals and assists return last season to, is this a smokescreen to hurry tresor to make a decision
Other than Tresor I don't see many wingers in Belgium that would do well for us. Perhaps Balikwisha from Antwerp.

Absolute guesswork, but I imagine our first two results haven't helped things. I know that we, as Brnley fans, understand the Prem and the quality of the teams we have just played, but he sees us almost the bottom of the table, with two fairly heavy defeats and may be worried that we won't be able to stay up?

I think even the thickest of footballers would be capable of looking at the 2 teams we have played and understand, if he was unsure he could ask his agent to help him grasp it.

Faesen reporting that Tresor doesn’t think he’ll fit into our playing style. Given he’s also knocked back Palace & Fulham, you have to wonder what playing style he thinks he is suited to.

Aren't we a top ten team? that's what we should be aiming for. I don't know I find it hard to fathom. Burnley is a great environment for players to develop. Trying to play beautiful football.
But yes maybe they rather play in a team that's not usually the underdog. Money should also play a part I assume? I still don't get it
