Cardiff ticket exchange

Just received an e-mail from the club stating due to demands for tickets there will be a ticket exchange available.

Any season ticket holders who cannot attend the game on Monday with Cardiff can let the club know and if their seat is then sold the season ticket holder shall receive the cost of the ticket, minus £1.50 admin fee, on their BFC Account as credit for future match ticket purchases.

You have until 24 hours before the game kicks off to take advantage of this. Tickets in the Barnfield/CFS are excluded.

Not a bad offer to try and keep the stadium full but as I sit in the CFS surely they can see that from their records so why send the e-mail in the first place.

Because its easier to send an email to everyone than to faff about finding out where people sit.

If they had a system suited for purpose it is literally one click of a button, no faffing about needed at all if the club came into the 21st century.

The email is for people buying tickets as well as selling them so sending it out to everyone they have an email address for is absolutely the right thing to do.

It worked well for me, I saw the email, logged into the ticketing website to find the game sold out. Checked back just now and managed to find two seats together in the North stand upper. They appear to come and go quite regularly so if you are after a ticket, keep checking - theres plenty of singles.

So if the club sell a child's season ticket worth say £6 a game to an adult for £35-40 the club will keep all the profit and then charge the fan £1.50 admin fee?
Great for the club.......

I’ve had no email but if it allows people to get tickets then it’s a positive move to do this.

When you buy a S.T. you a renting a seat. A literal seat which belongs to the club. So if you "give" your lease back to the club and get the money back for doing so, how on earth can you complain about them selling it for face value to someone else? What if someone gave back a ticket for an adult ST and they sold it as a concession, they'd lose money on the maximum markup. Works both ways.

And you get a discount if its for a young or old person who might be unable to afford it themselves. There's no reason for any company to sell anything a discount because of there age, in fact its a very gratuitous thing when companies do that.

Why shouldn’t they? So long as they give you what’s due back from the original ticket?

I think that is the incentive they need! My season ticket divided by 23 is miniscule, compared to the £40 to bu it on a one off.

Long may it continue.

Well done BFC and keep it up!

Up the Clarets

A number of clubs have done this on a regular basis for a long time but that’s at clubs where they sell out every week.

I’d assume that we will do this if successful and should we continue to sell out.

Looking to get rid of one of my kids tickets under my account. It doesn't seem to allow that, just the main season ticket holder (ie Dad and not friends and family)

Just checked that and it does only allow you to do it for your own ticket

Mine went into 'promotions' rather than my Primary inbox.
It could also be in 'Spam'

Agree its a decent move by the club, but on here sometimes, damned if they do, damned if they don't.

It’s a fantastic idea, and good for next season. That said, I’m sure they’ll not allow it in the CFS where I am, so for me it’s back to just letting mates go on when I can’t make it

Worth ringing the ticket office for a 'manual' operation.

There must be a better way. I’ve been going into the ticket page literally every few minutes for the last 24 hours and it just Jerrod saying sold out. I’m only after a single ticket

There were 3 singles in the Bob Lord stand 5 minutes ago.

Been checking every hour, one came up this morning and it's near where my family sit, so I just snapped it up.

It's just about being patient, supply and demand an all that. They come up in random bits and bobs. Ignore the sold out sign, just refresh the seat picker page directly, that's what I did.

Great to see this system being introduced here
