I don’t really get the criticism of players wearing gloves. Why wouldn’t you wear them if they made you more comfortable?

Or just run around a bit more. Might help

I don't think you can run around headless chicken style like it's the 80's without screwing up your team's tactics in modern football. Some positions cover loads of ground during a game, others are about timing your movement, and that can mean a fair bit of walking around.

FWIW I don't care enough to have an opinion on gloves/no gloves, just wanted to point out that running around to warm yourself isn't always possible.

Thought this was about some early 1980's album!!

I exercise wearing gloves in chilly weather because otherwise my Reynauds-y fingers would go white and hurt like beggary.

It's not always because they're soft, Southern wet-wipes.
