Bigger gate on The Turf than half the first division games that afternoon.

Surely the Leeds attendance is a misprint? 326,730 maybe?

Notts County v Luton - two clubs relegated at the end of the season and missing out on the first ever Premier League season.

They won 3-1 at Plymouth which got them into the play offs which they won.

They were away at Plymouth. Was shortly after Walker had taken them over and got Dalglish in so the first wave of plastics had probably started crawling out of the woodwork.

And both have been relegated from the FL.

I remember towards the end of the match.some the fans were congratulating on the touch line next to the Bob Lord stand and one of these fans Tackled/tripped a Wrexham player, who furiously stood up to confront the fan, then thought better of it!

I'm sure the ref blew up a couple of minutes after Wrexham's second, shortly after an away player was tackled by one of the throng on the touchline..

I still have the 'new' scarf I bought that day. My recollection was we'd won the title due to someone else losing the night before and the players looked and performed like they'd been on the **** ever since

Your recollection is way off.
We’d won the title ourselves at York

We'd won the title at York a few days earlier and this was the final match of that incredible season and was all set up for a huge celebration. The turf was absolutely packed and rocking, but sadly Wrexham hadn't learned their lines and decided to play properly and bloody beat us!!! Still a great day though.

It wasn’t the final match of the season, we beat Rochdale away a few days later.

I clearly remember the fan tripping the Wrexham player in front of the Bob Lord …would probably attract more punishment nowadays. Is my memory playing tricks when I seem to recall we put the away fans in the Bob Lord that day ?

It was in front of the longside where the player was tripped
I think you’re correct that the Wrexham fans were in the BL though

My error and I think you might be right. I went to the Rochdale match and it was a weird one because it ended up being played in May when it had been scheduled about 3 times previously only to be called off at the last minute due to a frozen or waterlogged pitch!!

There must have been more than that on the Longside alone.

As teenagers we used to get on the Longside around 2pm to enjoy the build up and get a good spot.
We had to join a queue that day at 1/1.30pm and I think they stopped letting people on there by 2pm.

Me and my mates (15 year olds) stood in the away end of The Longside for the novelty value.
There must have still been about ten minutes left when fans started scaling the fences to line the pitch. As a fat lad, I didn't fancy my chances of getting over but fortunately they ended up opening the gates. It was a bizarre experience sauntering around the edge of the pitch trying to find a spot to see from. We ended up on the BL side, just a few yards away from the trip on the Wrexham player.
