Is it true that the so called Supporters “Liason “ Group members have all signed NDA’s
Is this not a vehicle to improve communication at the club not to create a secret society?

it is one of the most serious tweets she has produced - as for some of the others you would think the club may have issue with the representation she offers so publicly

I don't see an issue with this. There are probably plans in place that the club can't officially reveal at this point and they want to make sure they won't be leaked.

Nothing to see here.

Or, of course, it could just have been a joke.

NDA’s have not been signed, members of the group have been asked as a matter of courtesy not to reveal details/outcomes of the meetings until announcements have been made officially.

nothing smacks of "ooohh look at me" more than the feeling of importance when they get asked to keep a secret. It wont be anything important per se, just that the club will want to communicate to the supporters effectively without leaks from fans on the FAB, that's all.

But of course, feel important if that justifies your existence...

also, most NDA's I've had to sign included a clause regarding discussing the NDA too... just saying ;)

Can’t believe so much weight has been placed on a tweet by someone who just a few days ago was openly discussing with another female Burnley fan, via Twitter, about how she’d forgotten taking the batteries out of her tv remote to use them in her vibrator.

Not sure there’s much to see here to be honest.

In addition, not all the meeting needs to be under the NDA....some items discussed can be freely shared, others will be under the NDA, it's up to the chair of the meeting to make clear which aspects of the meeting fall under the terms of any NDA.

I have been barking completely up the wrong tree.
I have been worrying over nothing.
I added the NDA and embargo together and could only smell fish.
All Premier League Clubs must have Fans Advisory Boards in place . This is just us starting to put those plans into place . With the NDA in place until we know fully how to run these things

I had no idea there was a Fan Advisory board at Burnley.

I am sure I read somewhere about an upmarket catering company taking over concourse provision. They were present at several other clubs but I can't find the link.

The club invited applications for a fans forum last summer but then nothing happened until early this year. Some applicants were then interviewed by the club with some of those winning a place although they then changed the name to Fans Advisory Board. I believe the first meeting was held In February with at least one more meeting since.

The Premier League are not organising it in the same way as the Football League. The Premier League are permitting clubs to choose who goes on there, described by the Football Supporters Association CEO as marking your own homework.

I am aware of some of the people on this FAB but I’ve no idea how it is intended to work.

In terms of this thread, I was told they didn’t have to sign any NDA but they did have to sign a document to confirm they would not place any bets on football.

Yep, I only did a cursory google but I imagine regulations will be similar. And if it was set up this year then I assume they thought it should be Premier League compliant.

The last paragraph of the document is interesting. Publication.

Seeing as the club are playing to the premier league rules and all.

I have only quoted you aggi to get the document in but it seems to have failed.

NDAs are normal - people sign them all the time when getting access to privileged info. The last thing the club would need is some ideas just being leaked.

I would think the NDA is likely part of the Terms of Reference for being part of that group and likely applies to items that, during the meeting, are noted as being confidential.

That's how it works where I am a governor at a school. There isn't an NDA to sign at every meeting, but some items are noted as confidential and cannot be discussed outside of that meeting.

this entire thread reads like a bunch of people who are just upset because they weren't brought onto the FAB its not a communication vehicle for the club to put stuff out into public its for the its members specifically fans to be able communicate in person with the chairman and provide advice directly from the fans in a constructive manner with many things on there being kept secret because they have been legally finalised. I am unaware as to wither NDA's have or have not been signed but the fact is there is a very good reason for them to be considering some of the things that have and will be discussed.

I was in the previous incarnation of this group and had to sign an NDA on our first meeting.

I think that is pretty standard in the context of discussions that you have.

After a cursory inspection it seems this is not the case. Most contributors to this thread on the contrary seem to be in agreement with you. Just goes to show what a lot of noise one or two voices make.

It would be entirely expected to sign an NDA, when information that is not in the public domain is presented to a group.

Some NDAs may include a confidentiality clause re the agreement itself, but it's highly unlikely that mentioning an NDA signed as part of a widely-known forum could be enforced.

If there wasn't an NDA, then members of FAB could believe it acceptable to commentate in real time about matters under discussion, which obviously would defeat the purpose of the group.

Looks like there isn't an NDA (unless there is one but for specific items only? ) - This is from the Clarets Trust -

The second and latest meeting of the Fan Advisory Board (FAB) took place on Wednesday 19th April, chaired by the Director of Fan Experience Russell Ball and attended by Alan Pace.

The proceedings began with official photographs taken of all FAB members, ahead of official information regarding the FAB being published by the Club in the coming months. It is not an official requirement of clubs outside of the Premier League to have a fan advisory board, with Burnley Football Club getting ahead of the curve in establishing its own FAB ahead of next season. As such, they have been finding their feet over the past few months and Russell will be attending training with the Premier League on supporter representation over the summer. That is all to explain why there has been no communication directly from the Club about the FAB since our first meeting a few months ago. In the meantime, I trust many of you will have seen updates filtering out across social media from various members of the FAB and I will endeavour to continue producing updates after each meeting!

As for what was discussed at the meeting, I was pleased to be given assurances from Chief Operating Officer Matt Williams that the EFL transfer embargo would be lifted in the coming weeks - with the green light coming earlier this week after the Club's accounts had been filed. We also discussed plans for the Burnley FC Women's match that was to be held at Turf Moor and it was amazing to see almost 3,000 supporters in attendance to see the players beat Liverpool Feds last weekend. With the welcome investment of former USA international footballer Kealia Ohai Watt (and her husband/NFL legend, JJ Watt), the Club looks well set to push for promotion again next season. At the first meeting of the FAB, my fellow Board Member Eve Gurman suggested that the Burnley FC Women's social media accounts should be merged with the Burnley FC accounts, in order to bring the Club in line with teams such as Manchester City in offering the biggest platform possible for both teams. Eve's suggestion was given the green light from Alan Pace and the Club was pleased to report that Burnley FC Women's content has started to be pushed onto the Burnley FC feeds, with a full merger to come down the line - a first success story for the FAB!

Furthermore, after discussions at our first meeting surrounding issues of lighting in some areas of Turf Moor after night games, I am pleased to report that LED lighting is being introduced in some of the passages behind the Longside (North Stand), that will hopefully offer safer walkways in the future. Similarly constructive feedback was given by members of the FAB in regards to catering queues at half-time at Turf Moor, and Russell Ball reported in our latest meeting that additional tills will be in place for our return to the Premier League, alongside digital ordering screens and other improvements that should hopefully improve our catering offering. On a similar note, fans can expect to see notable changes in hospitality at the start of next season, especially in the Jimmy McIlroy Stand.

The majority of the meeting was led by Supporter Liason Officer Jack Ormesher and Insights Manager Nathan Kavanagh, who delivered a detailed breakdown of the results from the latest Clarets View survey. What stood out to me was that just under half of all fans who have attended a game at Turf this season have also visited the Fanzone, which is great to hear. As should be expected, the survey has provided the Club with plenty of scope for improvement, with matchday entertainment and kiosk waiting times high on the agenda. Finally, it was fantastic to hear plans for a ticket exchange ahead of the Cardiff City game, an idea that had proved popular at the first FAB meeting.

To cut a long story short - anyone who knows me will testify as to how much I talk (!) - the first couple of FAB meetings have been introductory on the whole, but have been thoroughly enjoyable and productive. It was a pleasure to be selected to represent the Clarets Trust on the FAB and I am loving getting to know my fellow FAB members. Onwards and upwards!

FINAL THOUGHTS

To anyone who has read this far, thank you! I hope you have learned a thing or two and my apologies again for the delay in providing a Fan Advisory Board update. It has been another wonderful season following Burnley and made even sweeter today seeing news of Vincent Kompany's contract extension. It has been fantastic meeting lots of new faces as the season has unfolded and I think we can only look to next season with optimism. On the Trust front, I am looking forward to holding the first set of elections since I became Chairman and starting projects such as the Disabled Supporters Group and potentially a ticket scheme for local schools - watch this space.

Enjoy the celebrations Clarets, give Ashley Barnes a hero's send off, and let's toast our Champions!

UTC,
George Poole
