Got to say I’ve always been a bit sceptical of Paul’s “exciting times” mantra, but things are looking bright at the moment and I can’t wait for the new season.

Never in doubt for me, Kompany’s an absolute class act and a man with a sensible head on his shoulders, he was never going to abandon his project too soon, he’s too wise to make the same mistake as Gerrard/Lampard and backs himself long term to end up at the top. A marathon not a sprint for him.

The only thing we can be certain of is VK will have just got a handsome pay rise - which is fully deserved of course.

The 'agreeing to stay until 2028' stuff....well, we know how much that means.

This is excellent news but I was always 100% confident in my own mind that he would be with us next season as a minimum, regardless of what all of the doom mongers were posting.
Well done to Alan Pace for getting a new deal in place to remove any uncertainty.

Exactly. Nobody is kidding themselves (I think) to believe he will still be managing us beyond 2028, but at least it kills off all of this speculation about him taking over at Tottenham as soon as this season ends.

Maybe, not necessarily though. We don't know what kind of release clause he has.

I'd be amazed if there isn't something like a release clause in the contract that covers the possibility of him being offered the Manchester City job.

Fantastic news. The reality is that it will likely just mean more compo when he does eventually leave, and maybe this will make him slightly less desirable for other clubs. But crucially it almost certainly means he will be at the helm next season and that he thinks he will be given the tools to keep us up.
